Chapter 27 The Advance of the Revolver Dragon
Chapter 27 The Advance of the Revolver Dragon
A large, spider-shaped machine made of mechanical materials descended onto the dueling arena, its body equipped with two enormous rocket launchers that gleamed with a cold light.
[Rocket Launcher Spider Type 1, Level 7, Fire Attribute, Machine Type, Attack Power 2200, Normal Monster]
Kagura Kiryu smiled modestly and placed a card from his hand on the dueling platform; "I activate a Trap Card from my hand, Naraku's Trap Hole."
"When your opponent Normal Summons, Special Summons, or Flip Summons a monster with 1500 or more ATK, destroy and banish that monster."
In the past few days, Kagura Kiryu has been going to his grandfather's card shop quite often, buying a lot of various trap cards, and even borrowing a few from his sister.
With the addition of the Dark Duelist card from a couple of days ago, Kagura Kiryu is no longer the pitiful little guy who was short of cards.
But the thief Keith, as if he had expected this, smiled contemptuously: "You think I'd fall for the same trick twice? Open the card, God's Declaration!"
The game's protagonist exclaimed in shock, "How is this possible! Isn't this an extremely rare card?"
"That's right!" Keith chuckled smugly. "I'm not the same person I used to be! I'm now a high-ranking rare card hunter in Gurus, and I'm highly regarded by Lord Malik!"
"These are all rare cards he bestowed upon me!"
From within the overturned trap, an elderly, white-haired angel stretched out his arm, waving it back and forth, crying, "No, no!"
In the original story, the thief Keith used this card during his battle with Little Beast, directly negating Little Beast's Divine Shield - Mirror Force.
"This card requires half of your life points to activate and can negate the following effects!"
"Activate when activating a Spell/Trap Card: Negate and destroy the card activated that day!"
"You can activate this skill when you or your opponent Normal Summon, Flip Summon, or Special Summon a monster. Negate its normal summon and destroy the monster."
Thief Keith points at Kagura Kiryu's trap: "I'll negate your Naraku's Trap Hole!"
[Thief Keith: LP1275→LP638]
Half of 1275 is 637.5, but according to the rules of Yu-Gi-Oh!, any number after the decimal point is considered as 1 after the calculation, so 0.5 is also considered as 1.
A powerful force of prohibition swept through the cards, and then...
The Rocket Launcher Spider-Type 1 on Keith Field suddenly fell into a trap and exploded, excluding it from the game, while Naraku's Pitfall Trap remained unscathed.
Thief Keith: ......
His eyes were practically bulging out of their sockets, and his mouth was agape. Kagura Kiryu was even afraid that his jaw would dislocate.
It took Keith a while to recover his senses before he shouted, "Why! Why wasn't your trap neutralized?!"
Kagura Kiryu revealed a sly smile, pointing to the only monster on his field:
"The effect of Atla's Trap Card: As long as this card is face-up in the Monster Zone, the activation of your Normal Trap Cards and their effects cannot be negated."
Keith, the younger cousin: "What?! Such a powerful effect!"
In the DM era, the disruptive capabilities of trap cards were arguably the core gameplay element, and the Atla Worm Trap, which could protect traps, was undeniably powerful.
"That's incredibly strong, Kagura. They even considered the possibility of the opponent using a counter-trap tactic?"
Keith broke out in a cold sweat. No! If this continued, he would lose the duel and might be banished to the darkness by Lord Malik.
He gritted his teeth and said, "Damn it, let's take a gamble! Open the card, the Ace of Spades, the Holy Grail!"
"Flip a coin once. If one side of the coin lands, I draw two cards; if the other side lands, the other person draws two cards!"
The upright is the pot of desire, while the reversed is the gift of desire.
It's also a gambling card that suits Keith's preferences.
The coin flipped and quickly landed on one side of the watch.
"Phew, then I'll draw two cards!"
Kiryu Kagura kept a close eye on him and was surprised to find that Keith hadn't cheated this time.
Perhaps even the cards hidden in my sleeve couldn't overcome the effect of the Atla Worm's Trap.
After seeing the card he had drawn, Keith relaxed slightly and activated his next card: "Spell Card, Pot of Greed! Draw two cards from your deck."
In the blink of an eye, Keith had four cards in his hand.
"Hahahaha, very good, my luck is as good as ever!"
The thief Keith burst into laughter, affixing a card to his back row: "I activate a Spell Card! A Rare Card! Offering to the Dead!"
"Discard one card from your hand and destroy one monster on the field!"
He pointed at the Atla Worm Trap and gritted his teeth, saying, "Destroy that evil monster!"
Bandages appeared around the troll girl, binding her tightly, and then "bang," they turned into specks of light and vanished.
"Next, the card I'm discarding is a compensation card! After discarding this card from your hand, you can draw two cards!"
Two more cards were dealt to him, and Keith chuckled.
"As expected, Lady Luck has been smiling on me! A magic card, a treasure from the sky, both of us draw six cards!"
Kagura Kiryu silently followed suit and drew cards.
Thief Keith: "Then I'll activate my Field Spell Card! Tomb of the Dead Emperor!"
A massive mausoleum rose from the dueling grounds, with countless terracotta warriors arranged on both sides.
Keith held up a card: "I activate the Spell Card! Angel's Blood! Restores 800 Life Points!"
[Thief Keith: LP638→LP1438]
"Then I, the great one, will pay 1000 life points to activate the effect of the field spell, Tomb of the Dead Emperor!"
"Using any number of terracotta warriors from both sides of the tomb as offerings, I summon this Level 7 monster! (Original effect)"
"Revolver Dragon!"
[Thief Keith: LP1438→LP438]
The mechanical monster, its head and two arms resembling giant revolvers, stood in the dueling arena, its head gleaming with a cold, icy light. The barrels were pointed at Kagura Kiryu, exuding an overwhelming sense of oppression.
[Revolver Dragon, Level 7, Dark Attribute, Machine Type, ATK 2600, Effect Monster.]
"Hehehe! Watch closely, this is my trump card! The Revolver Dragon!"
Summoning the ace seemed to restore the confidence of this former All-American champion: "Then I'm going to activate its effect immediately!"
He looked at Xiao Biao: "Game! You should still remember how terrifying this monster's effects were!"
Yugi's expression turned grave as he shouted to Kiryu Kagura, "Damn it! This monster's effect is! Multiple Attacks!"
"That's right! The Revolver Dragon has three barrels!"
Keith shouted, "And each barrel has a one-in-five chance of firing a bullet!"
In layman's terms, this card allows you to flip a coin three times, and then perform the number of attacks equal to the number of heads. (Original effect)
"Next, I activate this card! Equip Spell! Card 7! It increases the attack of Machine-type cards by 700! I'm equipping it to the Revolver Dragon!"
[Revolver Dragon, Attack Power 2600 → Attack Power 3300]
"Go, Revolver Dragon, activate effect!"
Three coins were tossed, and to the tense eyes of Keith and Little Biao, all three coins landed heads!
"Yo-ho! I've been hit three times! I can launch three attacks now!"
Keith sneered, "Your field is completely empty! Kid! You're finished!"
"Battle! First bullet! Revolver Dragon, direct attack!"
The revolver dragon's right arm began to turn the wheel, quickly adjusting it to a magazine full of bullets.
"Bang!"
A giant bullet shot out like a cannonball, and Xiao Biao shouted anxiously, "Kagura!"
Kagura Kiryu gave him a reassuring smile, then his eyes sharpened, and he waved his hand, saying, "I'm activating the effect of the Bone Boar's Throw in the Graveyard!"
"You can only activate this once per duel: banish this card from your Graveyard to negate one monster attack!"
A round, black piglet leaped out of Kagura Kiryu's grave, blocking the incoming bullets, and deftly spit out all its bones, making a miraculous escape.
