Chapter 281 The New Floating Workshop
It is no longer that simple, rugged single-story stone house, but a two-story stone building with a sleek design.
The small building is surrounded by a waist-high stone wall, which encloses part of the surrounding area, forming an independent courtyard of about 600 square meters.
The courtyard is paved with smooth stone slabs, and space has been reserved for future planting or the installation of defensive structures.
Overall, this two-story building with walls resembles a sturdy miniature castle, far surpassing the original single-story workshop of just over a hundred square meters in scale, function, and grandeur.
Li Ang walked into the new workshop. The first floor was a spacious living room and reception area, as well as a well-equipped standard alchemy workshop.
The second floor is planned as a relatively private living area, including bedrooms, a study, and a small lounge with a terrace. Storage rooms, bathrooms, and other functional areas are also reasonably arranged throughout the space.
Although the interior has not yet been decorated or furnished, the basic spatial structure is complete.
Looking at the empty second floor, Li Ang remained silent for a moment. Although the new workshop was complete, the interior was indeed too deserted. Suddenly, he thought of a solution, and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly.
Leaving the workshop, he headed straight for the law enforcement area and came to the familiar door of the First Special Operations Group's residence.
The door was tightly closed, with a seal affixed to it, symbolizing its preservation. Li Ang casually wiped it off, and the seal fell off silently. He then pushed the door open and went inside.
The room was almost exactly the same as when he left, with hardly any dust. Presumably, even though the team's mission was suspended due to his disappearance, the two of them had cleaned the place carefully before it was officially sealed away.
His gaze swept over the familiar tables, chairs, sofas, bookshelves, and filing cabinets—all of which he had purchased with the team's contribution points and were the private property of their squad. Even though the base was sealed off, the law enforcement team had no right to confiscate their private property.
The [High-Level Space Ring LV50] on Li Ang's finger gleamed faintly. With a thought, the furniture in the room disappeared one by one, steadily being stored in the ring's vast space.
In a short while, the once vibrant settlement was completely empty, leaving only bare floors and walls.
Returning to the second floor of the floating workshop with a bountiful harvest, Li Ang began to set up. A long table was placed in the center of the living room, sofas were arranged around the table, and bookshelves stood against the wall. As familiar pieces of furniture were put in place, the cold second floor of the new workshop quickly became full of life, almost exactly the same as the original main hall.
After finishing all that, the night outside the window was already deep. Li Ang lay down on the familiar leather sofa, still dressed, and closed his eyes for a short rest. The effect of the [Acceleration Pocket Watch LV50] quietly began to work, quickly restoring his depleted stamina.
As dawn broke, Li Ang returned to his dormitory. Nelson and Rodney had just gotten up and were carefully wiping the furniture in the living room. When they saw Li Ang return, the siblings quickly stood at attention.
"My lord, you're back," Nelson said respectfully.
Li Ang nodded, his gaze sweeping over the beds in the room. He walked to the door of his own bedroom and the small room with his brother and sister. With a thought, the ring flashed, and the three beds and their bedding disappeared instantly.
This scene caused Nelson and Rodney to widen their eyes simultaneously, with Rodney instinctively covering her mouth, her pale blue eyes filled with disbelief.
They had never seen spatial storage equipment before, and the sight of it being stored out of thin air was nothing short of a miracle to them.
Seeing the shocked and slightly frightened expressions on the brother and sister's faces, Li Ang said calmly, "This time, you'll come with me."
He didn't explain the reason in detail, but Nelson and Rodney understood instantly that their master felt it might not be safe to leave them in the tower, and that it would be more reassuring to have them with him.
A warm feeling, a mixture of excitement and relief, welled up in their hearts, and the two nodded vigorously almost simultaneously.
"Yes, sir!" Nelson's voice trembled slightly.
"I—I definitely won't cause any trouble for you, sir!" Rodney quickly assured her.
With the still somewhat dazed brother and sister by his side, Li Ang returned to the Floating Workshop. In the morning light, the workshop's brand-new exterior, complete with walls, appeared even more impressive.
Helena and Rudik were already waiting outside the door, curiously looking around at the new workshop.
Both of them carried light packs, their expressions a mixture of curiosity, anticipation, and a hint of barely concealed nervousness.
"Captain!" Upon seeing Li Ang, the two immediately came to greet him.
Just as Li Ang was about to invite them inside, a faint whooshing sound suddenly came from the horizon. A figure riding a broom approached from afar and landed lightly on the open ground in front of the workshop. It was Eve.
She was wearing a black robe, and her light blue hair fluttered slightly in the morning breeze. When Eve's gaze swept over the two-story stone building with a courtyard wall, a hint of surprise flashed across her face, but she did not ask any questions. Instead, she handed a square object wrapped in dark blue velvet to Li Ang.
"I had a shop I know work overnight to make it," Eve said softly, her tone filled with deep concern. "Luckily, it made it in time."
Li Ang took the package. It was soft yet slightly heavy. He untied the rope and unfolded the velvet cloth. Inside was a neatly folded, brand-new blue wizard's robe. The fabric was of the finest silk, far superior in both luster and color to ordinary cotton.
"Thank you, mentor." Li Ang stroked the soft, smooth robe, a warm feeling flowing through his heart.
Eve shook her head gently, her gaze lingering on Leon's face for a moment before she finally whispered, "Ginny told me everything. You—be careful."
She paused, then added, "Also, thank you for helping me get Ginny back."
"Ginny is my friend too, this is what I should do," Li Ang said with a smile.
Eve said no more, nodded slightly to him, got back on her broom, and quickly disappeared from his sight.
After bidding farewell to their mentor, Li Ang led everyone into the workshop. As soon as they entered, Helena and Rudik's eyes were immediately drawn to the two quietly standing [Six-Armed Guardian Puppets].
The dark, sleek metallic bodies, the subtle flow of energy at the joints, and the invisible sense of oppression they exuded all caused the two people who saw them for the first time to show surprise.
"This is—" Ludick murmured.
"A guard and assistant at the workshop," Li Ang explained simply, then led them up to the second floor.
Upon arriving at the second-floor living room, Helena and Rudik were immediately struck by its beauty; the furnishings were almost identical to those of the living room in their former residence.
"Captain, is this... arranged according to the layout at the base?" Helena couldn't help but ask, her fingers brushing against the armrest of the sofa she often sat on.
