Chapter 270: 270:Perilous Situation

Just as she was about to dash out of the hall, Suri heard the sound of gunfire, forcing her to leap away to take cover.

But that was when she heard a sound that froze her for a moment, her mind turning blank as she registered the voice.

"Hahaha! Suri, it's been a long time since we met. Won't you come out and greet your little brother?"

Her eyes narrowed as she identified the source of trouble. Crouching behind the table, she cursed.

'Damn! Did he finally lose it?'

'How did he get the guts to act like this?'

The scent in the air, the sudden collapse of the guests, and now Paul's voice...all this was no coincidence.

He was behind all of this but...

She wasn't sure if he was alone or acting along with others since what he was doing was broadlight terrorism. She suspected that someone in Indra was helping him cover his tracks.

Pressing her back against the overturned table, she carefully listened to the sound of footsteps approaching from the entrance.

Peeking over the edge of the table, she tried to gauge how many men he had with him.

In the dim light, she spotted a group of armed men in black suits, their faces hidden behind masks. The air thinned, and she could feel her breathing grow heavier.

She had to act fast before she was surrounded.

Her lips curled into a bitter smile as she braced herself. 'Little brother or not, you picked the wrong sister to mess with.'

Taking a deep breath, Suri tightened her grip on the edge of the table, ready to fight her way out.

__________

The Grand Blue Hotel had turned into a war zone.

As Suri crouched behind the overturned table, she scanned the room. Dozens of heavily armed men were pouring into the venue, led by Paul, whose sadistic grin stood out like a beacon of malice.

The guard was no ordinary man.

"Superhuman..."

Amused by her realization, Paul chuckled.

"You always were quick to catch on, sister."

Suri stood slowly, her eyes narrowing as her mind worked in overdrive to analyze the situation.

This wasn't a reckless ambush; Paul wasn't just toying with her, this was a well-planned and crafted trap.

He didn't bring these men just for show, and the fact that he had superhumans at his command meant she was in serious danger. She glanced toward the remaining guards, eyeing their movements.

They were too composed, too confident. Aside from the one beside Paul, who was clearly enhanced, there was no way to tell if any others were also superhuman.

Even if she managed to get out of there, she wondered what sort of crime Paul would pin on her. These people weren't knocked out just like that.

It was a measure that in case Suri escaped, they could pin down the blame for everyone's death on her.

"You're in a real pinch, aren't you?" Paul's taunted, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"You're wrong," Suri shot back, her eyes never leaving him. "It's you who is in trouble."

Paul's grin widened. "Oh no, sister. We're not in a pinch at all. In fact, we need you alive. You see..."

He stepped closer, his eyes cold. "You're key to something much bigger than you realize and I have a deal."

Suri's brow furrowed as she asked, "Deal... with whom."

Paul gestured toward the men behind him. "And don't bother waiting for a rescue. I've made sure no one's coming. My contacts with the Rajputs have blocked every road. You're trapped here, alone."

One of Paul's men, holding a gun, shifted nervously. "Sir, should we shoot her now?"

Paul's gaze snapped toward the man, his eyes filled with anger. "Did I give you permission to shoot her? We need her alive. Fall back!"

The man flinched and stepped back immediately, not daring to defy the young man's orders despite being way stronger than him.
