Chapter 107 Christmas Eve
Chapter 107 Christmas Eve (Part 1)
In the early morning, Roy slowly opened his eyes, stared at the office ceiling in silence for a while, and then nodded gently.
Christmas is just around the corner—I spent a week making the gifts and now I'm just waiting to give them to them.
Mr. Lupin's gift should be sent ahead of time, since he seems to still be in Albania. However, Roy pursed her lips slightly, suddenly remembering that Mr. Lupin hadn't written a letter in a while.
He usually writes a letter after receiving his wolfsbane medicine, but he hasn't this month.
Perhaps he forgot? After all, he was busy with something very important, though Roy didn't know what it was.
Besides Mr. Lupin, Roy also made gifts for Miss Lovegood and Hagrid, and she actually wanted to give one to Mr. Riddle as well.
But after thinking about it carefully, he realized he was just a book, and there didn't seem to be any particularly good gifts for him. Shaking her head, after washing up with her wand, Roy put on her cloak and mask, and then walked out of the office. It was the weekend, and she had made plans with Hagrid to go to Hogsmeade together.
However, not long after leaving the office, Loira sensed something strange. Hogwarts was usually bustling, but at this hour, there were usually not many people around.
However, Roy could clearly sense that someone was watching her. She was very sensitive to gazes, and those piercing eyes would subconsciously make her lower her head slightly.
But most students would just glance at it, but this gaze was fixed on him.
Could we have run into some bad guys? But this is Hogwarts!
Roy instinctively quickened his pace while gripping the wand in his arms.
She didn't want to deal with this stranger, nor did she want to waste her time on him. She had an appointment with Hagrid. However, no matter where Roy went, she could feel someone watching her, or even—following right behind her.
She couldn't help but turn her head slightly to see who it was, but the person keenly avoided her gaze.
Could it be Dumbledore? Loira even had this somewhat absurd guess in her mind, after all, Dumbledore didn't seem like the kind of person who would do such a thing.
He must be exceptionally good at petty theft.
She pursed her lips and quickened her pace. No matter who he was, she had no intention of talking to him.
But as soon as Roy stepped into the courtyard of Hogwarts, he saw a silver-haired girl sitting on the railing of the corridor. She was examining the ivy of Hogwarts with great interest, as if she were weaving something.
"Miss Lovegood?" Loira pursed her lips and whispered, "Quickly—quickly get out of here."
"Why?" Luna seemed to know who was standing behind her without even turning around. She looked intently at the ivy in her hand and said, "I can only reach this ivy."
"But—it's very—very dangerous," Loira said anxiously. "Someone is following me."
"He might be in danger." Perhaps because she was too anxious, Roy didn't stutter, which was rare. Of course, it's also possible that she has improved.
"Someone's following you?" Luna turned her head slightly to look at him. "Isn't that Professor Lockhart?"
"Huh?" Loira was taken aback, and at the same time, she heard a voice from the corridor behind her: "Huh?"
"Ah—it's been a long time—Miss Hamilton." With a sound of footsteps, Lockhart slowly walked out, his eyes still slightly sleepy on Loira's face.
He had his hair styled in a magnificent golden slicked-back style, and he wore a thick, luxurious red robe with gold trim that was even more extravagant than the clothes Lord Grindelwald had ever worn, as Loira had seen.
This is by no means to say that Lord Grindelwald's clothing is flamboyant, it's just that—
That's not important. What's important is why Mr. Lockhart wants to follow me.
Roy pursed her lips and looked at Lockhart as he slowly stood in front of her.
"Professor Hamilton, there's something I'd like to discuss with you." Lockhart flashed that familiar smile that Roy knew so well.
He seems different from before? Roy remembered that just a few days ago he was avoiding him and even sparked a discussion in class.
Now it seems like nothing happened.
"What is it?" Loira didn't speak, but Luna next to her did.
"Ah, Miss Lovegood, this is probably not something a student should hear," Lockhart said with a smile. "Even if you're my fan—"
"I'm not a fan of yours," Luna said in a light, airy voice. "I'm a fan of Professor Hamilton."
"Ah-Luna, don't say that!" Loira quickly waved her hand and carefully pulled Luna's sleeve to make her stand behind her.
Even if you're not a fan of Mr. Lockhart, don't claim to be one—I'm just an ordinary professor, not even a particularly qualified one.
Look, Mr. Lockhart is unhappy.
Lockhart's smile was a little stiff. He looked at Luna and gave an awkward smile, then looked at Roy as if expecting Roy to say something.
However, Loira was also awkwardly looking down, completely unaware of Lockhart's meaning.
Finally, after a somewhat awkward silence, Lockhart coughed and said, "It's like this—Miss Hamilton."
"What are your plans for Christmas?"
"Huh?" Roy was slightly taken aback. She felt that this was not a good topic.
"No—" she thought for a moment and said, "I'll stay at school and study magic arrays."
"I see." Lockhart paused for a moment and then said, "Would you like to come over to my house as a guest?"
"Huh?" Loira thought for a moment that she had misheard. Visiting Mr. Lockhart's house?
I'm not even friends with Mr. Lockhart, and this seems a bit too awkward. Although Mr. Lockhart is a very powerful wizard, I have to admit that there are many things about his behavior that I can't quite understand.
I was even a little scared.
So she quickly shook her head and said, "No—no need, Mr. Lockhart, I have other things to do..."
"You can study magic arrays anytime," Lockhart said with a smile, "but going to the home of a Merlin 3rd Class Medal recipient is not such an easy task."
Actually, I'm also a Merlin Class III medalist. Loira pursed her lips, wanting to refuse, but Luna beside her spoke first.
"My father has already invited Professor Hamilton to our home."
Hmm? Does Professor Hamilton know about this?
