80 Filming Abroad (Part 2)

80 Filming Abroad (Part 2)

Yang Huan has always been a bit of a free spirit. She became Su Tong's assistant mostly because she wanted to experience the entertainment industry. She had her sister talk to Su Tong about it, as they are still good friends from university. Su Tong has always been tolerant and caring towards Yang Huan, which has made her more cautious after some events, but she remains very lively. She couldn't wait to run over and tell Su Tong any good news. However, she noticed that Su Tong was just resting in her little corner, taking advantage of her break to slowly eat and browse news online, completely ignoring what was happening on set.

Filming on set with such a star-studded cast, they encounter countless incidents every day. Su Tong had witnessed several such minor disturbances before. One particularly memorable incident involved Lin Zhen this past Monday. A burly, crazed male fan, disguised as an extra, infiltrated the set. Caught off guard, this burly fan caused chaos in his attempt to get close to Lin Zhen, even knocking over and smashing a nearby camera. Ultimately, it was the gentlemanly Lin Zhen, whose physique seemed inferior to Lin Zhen's, who unleashed a surprising display of strength, subduing the large fan. Lin Zhen then called the police, and a handsome officer took the fan away. With the strong intervention of his lawyer, an apology letter and a replacement camera were delivered to the set the following day.

The crew was whispering among themselves, saying that Lin Zhen's charm was so great that he could attract men even more than women. Although Lin Zhen didn't say anything, Su Tong could tell he was quite unhappy with the comments, and his smile seemed forced for the rest of the day. Su Tong hadn't expected this to be related to her, but since it didn't sound too bad, she asked, "What? Which designer contacted me?"

"Silte, it's Silte! That world-famous genius designer is the one I admired the most when I used to read fashion magazines. Everyone says that this designer has an eccentric personality and acts strangely, but I think he has a good eye. He found our Sue in the crowd right away!" Yang Huan was much more excited than Su Tong herself.

Su Tong was thinking that the designer's choice to hire someone like me, who was completely unknown in the modeling world and clearly did not meet the height requirements, truly lived up to my reputation for being eccentric.

Director Lin Lili, smiling, led over a casually dressed but stylish brown-haired man. The modeling and film industries overlap, and since a famous designer was coming to his film crew looking for someone, Lin Lili naturally had to give him face, especially since the person he was looking for was a junior he greatly admired. Director Lin was clearly in a good mood and introduced Su Tong, "Sue, this is the famous designer, Sirte. He has come in person to invite you to be the lead model for his new collection of designs."

The man looked up, smiled, and waved at Su Tong. He was surprisingly young, only in his thirties. His smile was full of confidence, revealing a set of white teeth, and he looked extremely arrogant. Although his hairstyle and clothes had changed, his face looked strangely familiar. After thinking about it carefully, wasn't he one of the three "male students" who delivered food yesterday? A renowned designer, dressing up as a student who came to their film set to see "Oriental Beauty"—it has to be said, artists are indeed eccentric.

When Sylther arrived that day, he seemed like a mere bystander compared to his two companions. He remained silent and head down for most of the time, only raising his head briefly when he reached Su Tong's side. Because Su Tong was sitting close to him, Lin Zhen, who had seen his face the day before, recognized him immediately. However, she simply smiled and said, "Sue, regardless of his personality, Sylther is truly a renowned and exceptionally talented designer. Being her lead model is something many famous models dream of, and this should be an opportunity for you."

Although Lin Lili didn't say anything, it was clear that he was telling Su Tong to seize this opportunity.

Su Tong smiled, stood up, and gestured to her agent, Wang Hai. Wang Hai then came over to Su Tong, and she said to Sylther, "Thank you for your kind attention, I am very grateful. Mr. Designer, let's have a word in private."

Hilt flashed an infectious smile and replied, "That's exactly what I was thinking."

The two didn't ask for a special lounge to talk. Su Tong led him towards the edge of the film set while they talked in hushed tones. Poor Silt was full of enthusiasm but didn't get to say a word before Wang Hai directly and politely but distantly rejected him, saying, "My Sue currently has no desire to develop in the modeling industry."

This new collection by Sylphy incorporates classical Chinese elements, creating a fresh and modern look that blends Eastern classical aesthetics with contemporary style. However, he struggled to find a suitable model. Frustrated with his work, the unconventional Sylphy, accompanied by a young intern from his studio, went to see a model for Su Tong, a woman touted as an exceptionally beautiful Eastern woman by her classmates. Upon seeing her, he felt that Su Tong's image and temperament were perfectly suited for his collection, making her the ideal muse. Disregarding convention and solely focused on showcasing his work to the best of his ability, Sylphy, with the thought that Su Tong might be signed by someone else the next day, preemptively extended an offer, only to be met with a cold rejection.

However, it must be said that Su Tong really didn't understand Sylter. If she had enthusiastically accepted his first invitation, he might have lost interest in her after a few days. Her decisive rejection of the usually successful Sylter only fueled his ambition. He went against his usual arrogant style of refusing to see anyone else, visiting Su Tong three times in a row. Even the shoe-selling loser Liu Bei's three visits to Zhuge Liang's thatched cottage eventually persuaded him to come out of seclusion, but Su Tong still couldn't match the charisma of the Sleeping Dragon. Finally, she was convinced and, accompanied by her bodyguard Guo Chen, whom she always took with her in Los Angeles, accepted Sylter's invitation to visit his studio before making any decisions.

Upon arriving at Sylther's studio, Su Tong noticed that he seemed like a completely different person. The usually arrogant and cheerful Sylther had become serious and focused, almost like a different person altogether. He confidently showed Su Tong several of his new designs from this collection. No wonder he was a genius designer; looking at his clothes, one could almost see a surging emotion and a captivating allure emanating from them, beckoning the wearer to resonate with them, to bring out the most beautiful aspects of both themselves and the garments. Su Tong himself had to admit that this collection blended modern trends with classical Chinese elements, maintaining Sylther's signature intricate and ornate style, yet the attention to detail prevented it from appearing ostentatious or extravagant. Instead, it exuded a ethereal and romantic quality, as if detached from the mundane world.

Having confirmed that his work had moved Su Tong, Sylder suppressed his pride in his masterpiece and appealed to her emotions and reason. As if he had read Su Tong's mind, he first expressed his sincerity, saying, "Sue, you really don't need to worry about your height. It's not necessary for tall and thin models to showcase the charm of a work. As a designer, I know who is most suitable for my work. Without you, my dear, this series of works would lose half its brilliance. Only you, only you can make them shine even brighter."

Faced with such a direct compliment, Su Tong was not used to it, but she still managed to handle it and said with a smile, "I'm sorry, that's exactly why I have to decline your invitation. I have no experience on the catwalk and don't want to cause trouble for your team."

But her words seemed to play right into Hilter's hands, and he quickly rattled off a string of words: "You don't need to worry about that. There's an old saying in your country that a lotus flower is most beautiful when washed clean, and most beautiful when free of artificial embellishment. I can have someone teach you the catwalk techniques; it's actually not difficult at all. All you need to do is showcase your own beauty and charm, and that will be enough to highlight the beauty of these clothes. And also—"

He winked playfully, then his expression turned serious, the transition quick and seamless. He said, "With your looks, it's understandable that you'd worry about those things in our circle. But the reason I'm considered an oddball in the industry is because I hate these things. Most of the messy things in this circle are just consensual transactions; if you don't have the desire, nothing will happen, and no one will force you. I can assure you with my reputation as a designer that absolutely nothing will happen. If I force you to do anything wrong, I'll never be able to design a single satisfactory piece again. And for Mr. Lin's sake and because you're my muse, I'll do everything I can to take care of you."

Since he had already put it this way, at least he was sincere, and Su Tong didn't deny that she admired his design, so she agreed to consider it.

The very next day, the tutor that Sylder had found for Su Tong arrived. He was a man who looked more feminine than a woman, with a slender waist that swayed gracefully. The tutor seemed quite satisfied with Su Tong, explaining that it was "rarely seen someone with higher charm than me." However, his name, Archer, meaning "strongman," felt strangely incongruous. When Su Tong called Sylder to ask what was going on, Sylder, while sketching the first draft of his new work, boasted smugly, "Since you've already agreed to consider it, it's only a matter of time before you agree. To make my show even more perfect, of course I had my tutor go and train you early. Don't be shy, and don't thank me for hiring such a good tutor for you~"

After Archer arrived, Su Tong's filming journey, which had been leisurely with few scenes, suddenly became difficult. She had to train in everything, including posture, demeanor, movements, and expressions, with walking being the most important part of the training.

Su Tong's only experience was occasionally holding up signs or presenting awards in college. Archer herself walked the runway more like a woman than a model, but when it came to training Su Tong, she was like a demon. After three days of training, she went from walking on lines on the ground with things on her head to walking on a special frame that was only a foot wide off the ground. Even Lin Zhen couldn't help but sweat when she saw Su Tong training. If Su Tong didn't have a dance background, she probably would have fallen badly.
