The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1386 A Deal with the Demon Queen (1)

Chapter 1386 A Deal with the Demon Queen (1)

rex was going back to the dark elf kingdom to learn about the tabaxis customs.

it was mandatory for him to do this before going to meet them.

of course—rex already bought a book from the system shop—that would explain to him the tabaxi race's history. information surged into his brain, he was learning rapidly. it was akin to him being an empty cup being filled with water.

in mere minutes, he became a historian of the tabaxi race easily.

perhaps, he knew about the tabaxi race more than the tabaxis themselves.

had it not for the high-rank supernatural race's histories being way more expensive, costing around the tens of millions to billions of gold, he would have learned about every race in this world to better prepare himself for future conflicts.

being a werewolf helped him process this much information.

others who aren't fortunate with regenerative ability as strong as him would've died.

learning this much was a hazardous process, and sometimes—due to how high his tolerance to pain was, rex forgot about that. nevertheless, i am confident in confronting the tabaxis. it doesn't mean i didn't need iris' help though.

information-wise, rex now knew more than iris, that's for certain.

but there must be some customs or traditions that he was still in the dark.

like all societies, there are unwritten customs that exist.

rex needed iris to be the one to teach him that as well as practice his mannerisms.

not too long ago, iris warned him that he shouldn't confront the tabaxis with force—as that would result in a situation where neither side wins. controlling the saltura bridge, rex could not offend them, that's what iris said.

so this was the second on his list, right below learning about chaos phantoms.

snapping out of his trance, rex looked around.

he seemed to be teleported to a forest edge and upon glancing back to the forest, rex could tell that it was most certainly not the humming damned forest—he wasn't near home, in fact—he was far away from home taking into account of the tundra terrain.

glancing to his side, he saw a towering ridge that rose hundreds of meters.

it sloped down as it extended forward.

"where are we?" rex asked, raising an eyebrow at mavenna.

she spent a lot of energy to teleport them here, it was clear seeing that she was very pale.

"i took you to where you wanted," mavenna panted.

upon hearing this, rex looked around once again, "i don't think this is the demon's territory, there's life here. i asked you to take me to elder tilrith. did you even arrange a meeting with her or did you instantly teleport me to meet her?"

"i did ask her!" mavenna rebutted, puffing her cheeks, and pointed ahead. "she's right there!"

following to where mavenna was pointing—rex saw elder tilrith on top of the ridge.

just as he was about to go to elder tilrith, he stopped at the sight of an explosion.

continue your saga on empire

several miles ahead, he saw a massive explosion—the breeze from the shockwave was even able to reach him, "hmm...? i sensed hell void energy—but what about the other energy, i do not recognize it?"

"it's the angels or rather... the dark angels" mavenna replied.

rex snapped his neck to look at mavenna in surprise.

he didn't expect her to know anything about the dark angels as she was mostly passive.

but what was more shocking was the fact that there were actual dark angels in front of him.

being near enough to feel the dark angels' energy wasn't the part that was surprising him, it was the fact that he was here—near them. seeing the dark angels meant that he was either on the other side of the saltura bridge or near it.

mavenna basically teleported them so far away from dargena city.

"where are we exactly? are we near saltura bridge or on the other side of it?"

"we're not on the other side, don't worry"

upon hearing this, rex nodded, he didn't want to confront the dark angels right now.

just then, he squinted and looked at mavenna probingly.

"w- what...? what is it? why are you looking at me like that?"

"you knew about the dark angels and you knew where elder tilrith was..."

purchase it and tell me what this gravitonic rift is.

what about the arcane ring? what is that?

"great, i guess the awakening of the world caused a lot of changes..." rex mused irritatedly.

looking ahead, it seemed he would need to circle around to reach elder tilrith.

it took two minutes with a light sprint for rex to climb the ridge.

standing ahead, elder tilrith was wearing a serious expression, focusing on the battle.

rex has never seen her this serious, even back when he was dueling her back then.

"i never expected the strongest of the era to come to meet me personally," elder tilrith said, her eyes still fixed on the battle. "in the flesh, no less, not a clone. it must be something very urgent for you to be here"

upon hearing this, rex approached and stood beside her.

he also gazed ahead at the battle.

in the distance, he saw an archdemon and his minions battling a platoon of dark angels.

despite the clear advantage, the dark angels proved to be very resilient.

"are you planning to take void down?" rex murmured.

elder tilrith's expression twisted into a mocking one when she heard void's name, she didn't seem to be worried about void who had reached the tenth-rank realm, "not him in particular—i have no interest in that crybaby"

"so the angels in general?"

"yes... we demons still have unfinished business with them, i hope you won't interfere—as i didn't interfere with your advancement on the werewolves. i'm quite sensitive in this matter so i hope you understand"

"i have no plans of interfering, but i am planning on making a move on the angels"

"we have a common enemy then..."

"is that a hint for cooperation?"

upon hearing this, elder tilrith chuckled before finally turning towards rex.

"why have you come here to meet me, your majesty...?" she asked, emphasizing his title.

rex turned to look at her in the eyes, his expression was also serious.

"i need your help"

"and how am i to provide that service?"

"i need to strengthen my soul, you succubi were known to have robust souls"

elder tilrith squinted her eyes, she wasn't expecting rex to come here searching for a favor.

she averted her gaze to the battle again, but now, her lips curled into a light smile, "i am the current queen of the demons and a service from a figure such as me does not come cheap, do you understand?"

"how much is your price?" rex asked.

having the system, he was confident in providing elder tilrith with whatever she wanted.

but her answer changed rex's expression instantly.

"you don't need to pay the price upfront, i'll help you strengthen your soul, but in return, you come back to me with the maw of oblivion. the spirit emperor was in possession of it—and so, i want you to take it from him. it's my origin's weapon" she answered.

upon hearing this, rex frowned—elder tilrith knew that he was going to the spirit realm.

it must've been mavenna.

"no, it's not mavenna," elder tilrith shook her head. "it's from the talk of your people"

"i think the deal is heavily favored to your side, in that case—i'll add a condition" rex replied, he was desperate but elder tilrith didn't know that. "i want it to be done in a day or less, and you will personally oversee the strengthening of my soul"

elder tilrith nodded, accepting the deal.

but rex has one important question, "what will be your insurance? to assure you i will not go back on my words?"

"i thought you never asked," elder tilrith smirked. "your child will be my insurance"
