Chapter 401 The Mechanical God Has No Heart 24
While Lin Huanming was still talking to the system WQBYRZM, Lu Renkui went through Lin Huanming's memories and found where Lin Huanming usually kept things he didn't use often—in the bottom shelf of the bedside table on the left side of Lin Huanming's room.
Having set a goal, Lu Renkui entered Lin Huanming's room and opened the bottom shelf of the bedside table.
The compartment was crammed with all sorts of random things: wires bound with black tape, an earphone with only one earpiece, colorful sachets, and a toy bear that could skateboard.
Finding a key that was only two fingernails long from such a huge pile of things was no easy task. Lu Renkui finally found two small keys after feeling his hands covered in dust—he wasn't sure if they were the keys to the locked drawer.
Lu Renkui walked to the desk with the two black plastic keys in her hand. She picked out one key, aimed it at the keyhole, and inserted it into the keyhole of the first drawer.
With a click, the key was inserted into the drawer's keyhole. Lu Renkui tried turning it and heard a click—the drawer lock opened.
Lu Renkui opened the drawer and found several sheets of paper and a thick kraft paper bag inside.
"I've put these things here," Lu Renkui thought, looking at the words written on the top sheet of paper.
The top piece of paper was a greeting card. On the bright red card, handwritten golden characters read "Happy Birthday, Mom*罒▽罒*" in a lively yet neat manner.
Was it written by Lin Huanming's daughter? Lu Renkui wondered. She checked again to see how the system WQBYRZM was doing with Lin Huanming.
“No, Ms. Lin, we can’t let you become a transmigrator too,” Lu Renkui heard the system WQBYRZM say.
"Why not?" Lin Huanming didn't seem to want to change his mind. "I think I can figure out how to put myself in a state between life and death so that you can find me."
“Not everyone is in a half-dead state. We all have to be bound to become transmigrators.” System WQBYRZM sounded impatient. “If you really do what you want, we will only judge you as a suicide. People who commit suicide are not qualified to become transmigrators.”
"why?"
"Do I need to explain this to you?" Lu Renkui heard the system WQBYRZM take a deep breath, and then continue to explain to Lin Huanming, "There are two types of people who commit suicide."
“One type wants to end the suffering, so we won’t bind them. If living is painful for that person, they definitely don’t want to continue their real life, so we have no reason to bind them.”
"There is another type: those who don't cherish their own lives and choose suicide. These people should definitely not be bound to us—if they don't even cherish their own lives, how can they care about the lives of others? Our responsibility is to help the original owner create new possibilities, not to bind to people who are highly likely to lead the original owner's fate in a more desperate direction."
"And you actually want to become a transmigrator and then find a way to resurrect your daughter, right?"
"Your idea is good, but it's simply impossible to implement!"
"First of all, our company's points redemption system does not have the option of reviving people. Even if you make a request to our superiors, they will not take your suggestion into consideration."
