Chapter 638 Facing The Abyssal Ghosts…
Chapter 638 Facing The Abyssal Ghosts…
Kent soared high in the skies, the wind rushing past him as his golden throne carried him forward.
The sky stretched endlessly, the blazing sun beating down without mercy. His thoughts were a storm of plans and strategies, focused on his journey to the desolate desert.
But then, a bone-chilling laugh echoed through the air.
Kent's eyes narrowed as three shadowy figures materialized ahead of him. Cloaked in swirling black mist, their forms twisted and flickered like dying flames. These were no ordinary foes—they were abyssal ghosts, creatures of pure malice, conjured from the depths of the netherworld.
"Ah, so this is the infamous Kent," one of the ghosts sneered, its voice dripping with disdain. "The man who dares defy the Demon Emperor."
"Quite the accomplishment," another said mockingly, circling his throne like a predator stalking its prey. "Killing the prince, making bold declarations. But look at him now—a mortal clinging to borrowed power."
Kent clenched his fists, his golden throne vibrating with the force of his rage. "If you're here to fight, then stop hiding behind your words and face me!"
The ghosts cackled, their laughter grating and sinister.
"Face you?" the third ghost echoed. "Oh, we're here for more than that. We're here to teach you a lesson—a lesson in futility."
Kent's patience snapped. He unleashed a barrage of golden energy from his throne, the beams cutting through the sky like arrows of light. But the ghosts dissolved into smoke, reforming effortlessly just a few feet away.
"Is that all?" one taunted, mockingly clapping. "I expected more from the so-called slayer of the demon prince."
Kent's frustration grew as he summoned his arsenal of weapons. He nocked an arrow infused with his origin nirvanic flames and loosed it with precision.
The arrow streaked through the air, blazing like a comet, but passed harmlessly through one of the ghosts, dissipating into the ether.
The ghost yawned theatrically. "Oh no, I've been hit! Except... I haven't."
As the godly intent flowed into the hair, it began to glow with an ethereal light, brighter and purer than anything Kent had ever seen. The ghosts recoiled, their mocking laughter replaced by shrieks of fear.
"What... what is that?!" one screamed.
"That power... it's impossible! No mortal should possess it!"
Kent didn't hesitate. With a flick of his hand, he released the glowing strand of hair. It transformed into a beam of divine energy, tearing through the air with unstoppable force.
The first ghost disintegrated instantly, its form shredded by the overwhelming power. The second and third ghosts tried to flee, but the beam caught them, reducing them to nothingness in mere seconds.
The sky fell silent. The oppressive presence of the ghosts was gone, replaced by an almost sacred stillness.
Kent sank back onto his throne, his body trembling from exertion. He looked at his hands, which still faintly glowed with residual godly intent.
"So this... this is the power of godly intent," he murmured, awe and exhaustion mixing in his voice.
Ruby nuzzled his leg, her eyes wide with wonder. The baby dragon chirped, its fear replaced by admiration.
As the golden throne stabilized in the air, Kent took a deep breath. He remembered the Goddess's words again: "This half-drop of godly intent is a gift. Use it wisely and learn to multiply it."
He clenched his fists, determination reigniting within him. "I've barely scratched the surface of what's possible. If this is the power of a half-drop... I'll find a way to master it. And I'll carve my own path." Read latest chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
For the first time, Kent felt a spark of clarity. The ghosts had been a testing creatures—a brutal, painful test—but he had survived. He had wielded the power of the gods, and now, he understood just how far he had to go to truly stand among them.
