Chapter 65 'The Fool' and 'Death'
Chapter 65 'The Fool' and 'Death'
"screw you!"
Joey immediately let go of the helmet and kicked it, sending the Destiny Helmet, which was floating in the vacuum, flying into the depths of space at almost the speed of light.
"What a waste of my time!"
This person, or rather these two people, came to find me, and apart from wasting ten of my precious minutes, they did almost nothing.
The things the Fate Doctor said could almost all be categorized as nonsense. He may be able to see through fate, but who knows whether what comes out of his mouth is true or false?
Claiming to be from Kal'El, the planet Krypton, is pointless now that Krypton has exploded.
As for the world being on the verge of collapse, does it even need to say that? In the 'peaceful and harmonious' main universe, the Justice League would rather be wiped out every week, let alone in the crazy Flashpoint universe?
Joey was particularly interested in what Raven had said about "San Francisco in 1906".
Given the context, what she said was likely the key to getting herself back to her adoptive parents.
The golden helmet that had been gliding at the speed of light in the distance suddenly turned back, its speed even exceeding the speed of light.
"Are you some kind of unremovable object from some ghost story?"
As Joey watched the Helmet of Destiny return like an unshakeable leech, a surge of anger rose within him. He caught the helmet and prepared to crush it with both hands.
If Doctor Fate's power could be fully unleashed, it would undoubtedly surpass the entire multiverse, but accepting its power would mean becoming a puppet of Naboo, the Lord of Order.
The helmet is forged from N metal, a weapon made from a metal from the planet Cenarion that can even injure the bodies of Kryptonians, but it is not indestructible against brute force capable of crushing the entire world.
The helmet groaned under its strain, but without a host, Naboo, residing in the Helmet of Fate, could only exert extremely limited power; he was unable to fight Superman in this state.
"Stop!"
In order for destiny and order to continue to exist in this universe, Naboo had no choice but to release the information he had previously obtained from the raven's memories:
"The 1906 San Francisco earthquake was caused by the aftermath of the battle between Raven and her father, Trigon, and this 'event' became a fixed point in the multiverse."
This event exists even in the desolate universe where you grew up, and you will use it in the future to deceive 'death.' I can help you find a way to that point in time right now!"
Thanks to the Helmet of Fate, Joey finally remembered what happened in San Francisco in 1906—a major earthquake that is famous in human history.
Although the earthquake reached a magnitude of 8, the damage to the city was not too severe due to the city's high population density at the time.
However, the fires ignited by the earthquake spread throughout the city, and the local residents were powerless to stop them. The fires eventually engulfed the entire city, causing unimaginable casualties.
What does all this have to do with the raven? She wasn't even born in that era.
However, Joey thought again that a being like Raven, who can travel between worlds at will, should have long transcended time and space. It wouldn't be surprising if she appeared at any point in time in any universe.
So it must have been the aftermath of the raven's battle with its father that triggered the earthquake, and the inextinguishable fire was clearly a leak of hellfire—the raven was, in some ways, a truly enormous and terrifying whale.
As for the Helmet of Fate telling him about "deceiving death," although it was said in a very subtle way, Joey knew what kind of things he needed to do to deceive death.
"I understand." Joey muttered to himself, pressing down on the helmet with even more force.
The things the Helmet of Fate told him were valuable, but they still couldn't stop him from crushing them into pieces.
He now understands that the will of Naboo, the Lord of Order, is too dangerous and should not exist around him or in this universe.
Under Superman's crushing hands, golden cracks gradually appeared on the Helmet of Fate. It had thought that Superman, whose fate was so unpredictable, would easily accept cooperation with it, since no one could resist the temptation of controlling their destiny.
It truly hadn't expected the other party to crush it without hesitation! Its helmet still held the infinite mysteries of this universe, including the secrets of Krypton, which it could tell him!
The golden cracks on the Helmet of Fate became more pronounced, and the words that Lord Naboo, the Lord of Order, transmitted to Joey's mind became increasingly illogical:
"I'm telling you, you have absolutely no idea what I'm telling you. Do you even know that you have absolutely no idea what you're doing right now?!"
Joey knew he would eventually find out; once he found a way back to that universe, he could always ask the raven that still existed there.
Based on its words and actions, the raven I just saw was likely a futuristic version of the raven from the previous world.
With a tremendous magical explosion, the Helmet of Destiny finally succumbed to the pressure and shattered into countless fragments. Joey reached out and gathered the fragments together before flying towards Earth.
Although Joey still didn't understand why Doctor Fate wanted to show up next to him, since he was already here and didn't want to leave, he might as well shut up.
As for asking the helmet about the fate of the world, that was completely outside Joey's considerations.
Joyce knew the universe's doomed fate better than anyone else; there was no need to ask Doctor Fate.
If you want to fight against fate, the most important premise is that you cannot let fate be both the judge and the screenwriter.
Joey believed he could rewrite his destiny through his own efforts.

Supergirl Kara Zo El is inside Lonely Fortress, examining the two crystals that Joey didn't get to see that night.
The two crystals were not corrupted as he had claimed that night; rather, he had deleted most of the data from them.
Because she wasn't sure if Karl Al was ready, or perhaps he never would be.
"How much time do we have left?"
Kara turned to the central intelligent processor that was sending coordinates, and a countdown began on the processor's display screen:
The local planetary cycle is 06 days, 23 hours, and 59 minutes.
Boom!Boom!Boom!
The gates of the fortress of solitude were knocked on.
"who!"
Kara erased the data traces from the processor and looked warily outside the fortress, only to find that there was no one in sight.
The idea of having a gate in Lonely Fortress was something Joey insisted on. For the time being, only he and Kara, two Kryptonians, had the authority to access Lonely Fortress. When they came back, they could just fly in. Who would need a gate?
A red cloak billowed out like a hurricane as Kara burst through the hole in the upper level of Lonely Fortress, arriving at the gate of Lonely Fortress in an instant, right where someone had knocked on the door earlier.
The scene was indeed deserted, but the sharp-eyed Kara spotted a card lying face down on the ice. Her super vision couldn't even see the contents of the card on the back.
A seductive female voice whispered in Kara's ear: "These are tarot cards, a keepsake from an old friend of mine. She wanted me to give them to the chosen one who can defy fate."
Kara turned around in the direction the sound came from, reaching out to try and restrain the other person, but found that there was still no one beside her, as if the sound she had just heard was a hallucination.
"Let me be direct—"
The mysterious woman lurking in the shadows with magic lost her patience. Why cause a conflict when it was just a gift to the hero who saved the entire magical world?
Her voice rang in Kara's ears again: "Give Superman that tarot card."
Upon hearing these sentences in completely reversed order, Kara's eyes glazed over, and she involuntarily picked up the tarot card that had been placed on the ground.
This tarot card is one of the cards in the Major Arcana series. After the Super Girl picked it up, the image on the card quickly changed, from the "Fool" in the forward position to the "Death" reversed.
