Soul Slayer Chronicle

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

Huang Lin nodded and said, “Fu Qingyun, a disciple under Elder Nie, is raising one!”

“Fu Qingyun?”

The woman’s gaze focused upon hearing this.

“Does Miss Chu Yao have any questions?”

Huang Lin asked curiously.

“No!”

Chu Yao shook her head and said, “Then I won’t disturb Elder Huang here!”

After speaking, she turned around and walked out of the cave dwelling.

Huang Lin watched the woman’s retreating figure without much thought and continued to sit cross-legged with his eyes closed.

After the woman left, she made her way to another cave dwelling.

In the depths, a stunning figure sat cross-legged; even though she was merely sitting quietly, her demeanor was captivating.

“Master, I have completed the task you assigned to me!”

Chu Yao said respectfully to the gorgeous woman.

“Mhm, go cultivate!”

The beautiful woman didn’t open her eyes, but her enchanting voice rang out, “Strive to break through to the fifth level of Qi Refining within one year!”

“Yes!”

Chu Yao nodded respectfully but didn’t leave.

“Is there something else?”@@@@

The woman opened her eyes, and her clear, contrasting pupils were mesmerizing.

“Master, do you remember the white spirit beast you killed in the outer mountains yesterday? I inquired about it, and just so, Fu Qingyun, who’s under the Third Elder, also raises one!”

Chu Yao spoke, “Moreover, Fu Qingyun’s current dual cultivation partner is... is that boy’s fiancée...”

As she spoke, Chu Yao’s voice trailed off, her tone hesitant.

The woman calmly closed her eyes again and said, “Take care of yourself, go cultivate!”

Chu Yao sighed upon hearing this, a look of sympathy covering her face as she shook her head and left.

...

On the other side.

Jiang Xiaobai was following Zhou Bin toward his dwelling, not in a hurry to read the letter but excitedly questioning how to use the elixirs and spirit stones.

Although Zhou Bin answered his questions one by one, his expression carried a sigh.

When they arrived at the dwelling, a cheerful voice rang out, “Zhou Bin, little brother, is this the newcomer?”

As the voice fell, both men turned their heads toward the direction of the dwelling, where three men approached.

The leader was also a young man; his eyes swept over Zhou Bin and finally rested on Jiang Xiaobai.

In the next second, he couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

A pale face is one thing, a sign of being timid.

Only after Yang Cheng began to scream did he come to his senses.

“You two, beat him to death for me! I’ll take responsibility if anything happens!”

Yang Cheng clutched the wound on his face, his voice filled with rage.

This was the first time someone dared to attack him.

Undoubtedly, it was a murderous trigger in his heart.

Upon hearing Yang Cheng’s order, the two men intensified their beating of Jiang Xiaobai.

Jiang Xiaobai, holding his head, finally looked up toward the rear and said, “Elder Huang, you’ve arrived just in time, they’re robbing my spirit elixirs and spirit stones!”

As Jiang Xiaobai’s voice fell, the two beating him and Yang Cheng all turned to look back simultaneously.

In that brief moment, Jiang Xiaobai spat out a mouthful of blood and staggered to his feet, rushing out with all his might.

He wasn’t afraid to die, but he also didn’t want to be beaten to death.

If he could make it to Elder Huang, perhaps he would still have a chance.

As he broke away, the three realized they had been tricked.

“Chase after him!”

Yang Cheng cursed loudly and was the first to pursue, followed quickly by the two men.

Zhou Bin’s expression changed, and he also followed.

At this moment, Jiang Xiaobai, although very weak, burst forth with potential in the face of life and death.

His speed was surprisingly fast.

But he was well aware that if he were to stop, the feeling of exhaustion coupled with his own illness would cost him half his life.

Because right now, he could feel the pressure in his chest and the burning pain.

“The kid, if I catch you, you’re dead!”

Behind him, Yang Cheng looked fierce, and it was clear to him that Jiang Xiaobai was heading toward Elder Huang’s direction.

He naturally would not allow Jiang Xiaobai to succeed.

With a grim expression, he saw Yang Cheng pull out a yellow talisman and stick it to his leg; his speed suddenly surged.

A speed-boosting charm!

One worth the price of a low-level spirit stone.

For him at the moment, elixirs and spirit stones were not important; killing this man was what mattered.

With the aid of the speed-boosting charm, Yang Cheng’s speed increased instantly.

In just three seconds, he halved the distance between him and Jiang Xiaobai, and the gap was still closing rapidly.

Jiang Xiaobai originally saw himself drawing closer to where Elder Huang was, as if seeing hope, but then noticing that Yang Cheng was catching up, his color again turned pale.

If he continued on this path, he feared he would be caught in less than ten seconds.

Right then, he noticed a narrow path in the woods to the side, his eyes lit up, and he veered off into it.

Strangely enough, the moment he dashed in, Yang Cheng’s speed plummeted.

Jiang Xiaobai glanced back and clearly saw Yang Cheng’s subtly changing expression...
