Chapter 290: Chapter 292: Ten Thousand Words Review
Seeing that no one else spoke, Xiao Han chuckled and said, “You all don’t need to worry, I am the top scorer in the college entrance exam, the school can’t possibly expel me just for this. Otherwise, if word gets out, it would reflect poorly on the university’s reputation, right?”
“Right!” Zhang Feng responded instantly, overjoyed, “Xiao Han, thank you.”
“Good brother!” Liu Bin patted Xiao Han’s shoulder and said, “You were wronged this time.”
“It’s nothing!” Xiao Han waved his hand and added, “It’s not a big deal, and, frankly, I’m the best candidate to take the fall for this. So, you guys shouldn’t worry too much either.”
“Yeah!” The others nodded.
In their eyes, it was only right for Xiao Han to take the blame. As the top scorer in the college entrance exam, the school would logically not expel him, at most he might just receive a verbal warning. Thus, everyone felt a sense of relief.
As the night deepened and quieted, everyone went to bed. Yet, not a single person could fall asleep.
Xiao Han lay in bed, his mind preoccupied with how to explain things to Lan Yudie the next day. He couldn’t possibly say it was just a man’s natural instinct, that everyone needs some kind of mental opium like that. He guessed that would get him killed by Lan Yudie. Xiao Han had to think of some proper reasons and excuses.
After a long time, he still couldn’t come up with anything. Discussing Japanese adult films with a woman was inherently an embarrassing topic, so Xiao Han felt somewhat at a loss. Unwittingly, he soon drifted into dreams.
............
The next morning, there were two advanced mathematics classes.
Lan Yudie was the advanced mathematics teacher for Finance Class One, but during these two classes, she didn’t pay any attention to Xiao Han, and just taught the classes. After she finished, she left without casting a single glance at Xiao Han from start to finish. Emotionally, she seemed unaltered, which left Xiao Han somewhat puzzled and bemused.
“What’s with Lan Yudie today?” Zhang Feng whispered to Xiao Han.
“What do you mean?” Xiao Han asked, puzzled.
“She didn’t glance at you even once,” Zhang Feng frowned and said, “Normally during classes she often looks your way, but today, not even once. Could she really be angry? Has she really decided to deal with you?”
“That’s not possible, right?” Xiao Han shook his head, “Being angry is possible, but expelling me is unlikely!”
“I still think you should be cautious,” Zhang Feng hurriedly said, “If you do get expelled, that would be troublesome. It’s not easy to get into university, and being asked to leave in our freshman year would be humiliating.”
“Just relax,” Xiao Han smiled.
After school in the afternoon, Xiao Han honestly went to find Lan Yudie on his own initiative.
Lan Yudie’s office was on the first floor of the Comprehensive Building. It was a small, standalone office. Just as he knocked, the door happened to open. Lan Yudie and Xiao Han bumped right into each other. She was dressed in light autumn clothes, preparing to go out.
“What are you here for?” Lan Yudie glared at Xiao Han.
“I...” Xiao Han hesitated, then smiled, “I came to see you.”
“Hmph, what do you want from me?” Lan Yudie threw her bag onto the desk.
“Didn’t you tell me to come see you today?” Xiao Han chuckled and after entering, he closed the door.
“Alright then, where is the ten-thousand-word reflection paper I asked you to write?” Lan Yudie sat down in her chair, crossed her arms, and looked up at Xiao Han.
“I didn’t write it!” Xiao Han shook his head.
“Oh, okay!” Xiao Han nodded hastily.
As Xiao Han was about to leave, Yudie stopped him. “Today, you’re playing my boyfriend, so... just relax. Don’t be too rigid, okay?”
“Oh!” Xiao Han hesitated, then asked, “Can I hold your hand?”
“Yes!” Yudie nodded with a smile, a slight blush on her cheeks.
“Then...” Xiao Han grinned. “Can I hold you?”
“Yes...” Yudie’s face turned redder.
“Can I kiss you?” Xiao Han asked again.
This time, Yudie hesitated. She bit her red lips for a long while before saying, “You can’t kiss me unless it’s absolutely necessary.”
“Fine.” Xiao Han was inwardly delighted; this meant Yudie was already preparing to be kissed by him. She wouldn’t have said that otherwise. A smile formed on Xiao Han’s lips as he said, “Then I’ll be leaving now. Oh, and for your class reunion, I’ve borrowed a car. I’ll drive you there!”
“Really?” Yudie’s eyes lit up, and she quickly asked, “What car... what car did you borrow?”
“It’s a secret!” Xiao Han laughed heartily and then turned to leave.
Watching Xiao Han’s departing figure, Yudie snorted coldly. “Hmph, what’s there to be proud of, I’ll see it later anyway.”
As she spoke, the corners of her mouth lifted into a smile, hinting at a slight anticipation.
Back in the dormitory. The dorm mates all gathered around.
“How did it go? Is everything sorted out?” Liu Bin asked eagerly.
“Don’t worry, it’s all taken care of,” Xiao Han nodded and said, “It’s not that complicated. Teacher Lan just told me that we shouldn’t watch those anymore as it casts a bad light. After all, this is Shuimu University, we can’t tarnish the school’s reputation.”
“Thank goodness!” Relief washed over Zhang Dagou when he heard that Xiao Han wouldn’t be expelled.
“Good brother!” Zhang Feng felt relieved as well.
Liu Bin was even more excited. He eagerly said, “Damn, next time we watch a movie, we definitely need to keep the door closed.”
There was a moment of silence in the dormitory.
“Right, keep the door closed,” Zhang Dagou hurriedly agreed. Zhang Feng also concurred.
Xiao Han then went to the bathroom to take a shower. Tonight was Yudie’s class reunion, and he had to pretend to be her boyfriend, so he definitely needed to try his best.
After showering, he changed into clean clothes and freshened up a bit.
“Are you going to a matchmaking event or what?” Zhang Feng asked.
