“No need!” Zhang Xiaomei shook her head and then said, “If we can’t finish, we’ll just take the leftovers home.”
Almost the entire time, Zhang Xiaomei was the one calling the shots, while the other girls just smiled and sat at the table. Beverages were poured into the cups. At that moment, Zhang Dagou asked, “Xiao Han, do you guys drink?”
“No, don’t drink!” Xiao Han shook his head.
“Come on, have some,” Zhang Dagou chuckled, then said, “It’s hot enough; a little beer would quench the thirst.”
Zhang Dagou, also from the Northeast, was not very considerate of others’ feelings, often self-centered.
