Chapter 174 – 175: Disarming
A million wasn’t a lot, a hundred thousand per bundle, ten bundles in total.
Li Shan’s lips curled up into a sinister smile and said, “Fourth Master, the million is all here.”
“Then what are we waiting for? Give it to them!” Liu Si spat out a puff of white smoke.
“The money’s here, take it!” Li Shan shouted.
The middle-aged man was baffled, not expecting the others to be foolish enough to really give him a million. What exactly was this act? A million was enough to buy a life. However, without much hesitation, the man immediately stepped forward to take the million. Picking up a free million without lifting a finger was an offer too good to refuse.
He had only intended to teach them a lesson, not expecting these idiots to actually spend a million to settle the matter.
However, to his surprise, just as he picked up the million from the ground, two men in black suits immediately surrounded him from behind.
“What are you trying to do?” The middle-aged man shouted angrily.
“Dare to take Fourth Master’s money?” One of the men in black cracked a smile and said, “You must be the first one in LJ city to do so.”
“What do you mean?” The middle-aged man’s eyes went wide with confusion.
“Fourth Master said that this million is to buy your pair of arms,” the other man in black added coldly and unexpectedly.
“Fuck!” The middle-aged man was just about to resist.
Smack!
Before he could fight back, a sturdy man in black suddenly launched a kick, landing it on the man’s thigh. The middle-aged man instantly lost his balance and fell to the ground with a thud, a humiliating face-plant.
“Pfft...”@@@@
The man spat out a mouthful of sand-laced saliva and cursed, “Motherfucker, I’m going to kill you all!”
Crack!
From behind, a man delivered a swift kick. The kick, precise and unerring, hit the man’s arm. His arm twisted in an unnatural angle as the bones snapped in that instant, piercing through muscle and skin, exposing ghastly white bone that protruded from the flesh, creating an exceedingly horrific scene.
The middle-aged man was stunned speechless.
“Ah!” He didn’t react immediately, but when the sharp pain reached his brain, his face turned crimson and his eyes almost bulged with blood. He screamed in excruciating pain, feeling as if his heart was about to burst from his throat.
“Don’t rush to scream just yet, there’s another arm to go!” the sturdy man said with a grin.
“Sss...”
Everyone drew a sharp breath. The crowd stepped back in fright, many paces in succession. Even the ’relatives’ that the middle-aged man brought were stunned into silence. Everyone was dumbfounded, too shocked to speak at the violence unfolding before them.
“Good heavens.”
“This... this is too cruel, isn’t it?”
“So terrifying, are they... are they even human?”
In a rush, Xiao Han withdrew twenty thousand yuan from the cashier and then hailed a taxi, dashing off towards the police station.
Liu Xiaolei was being held in a detention room.
Because it involved a toxic food incident, and as Liu Xiaolei was the restaurant’s lobby manager and thus one of the main people responsible, she was taken back to the police station for questioning. Several male officers at the station had their eyes on Liu Xiaolei’s appearance.
Dressed in Hanmen Catering’s smart uniform, a perfectly fitted blazer, she looked incredibly attractive, with her figure outlined to perfection, making some drool at the sight of her.
“That girl isn’t bad,” a male officer remarked with a leering smile.
“Indeed, she’s quite something, but it seems she’s been locked up for some trouble,” another male officer said with a laugh.
“What, you’ve got your sights set on her?” The duty officer asked curiously.
“Hehe, me? I’m already married, why would I think about that?” the male officer chuckled.
“So what if you’re married?” another officer hurriedly added, “Show me a cat that doesn’t steal! I don’t buy that at all.”
The men laughed and showed a sly grin. The male officer mustered his courage and cheerfully headed towards the detention room.
The officers gathered together, a sinister smile curling up on their lips, “Is this guy really planning on hitting on that woman?”
“Looks like he’s serious,” the duty officer nodded.
In the detention room, a male officer opened the door and walked in leisurely.
“Liu Xiaolei, are you okay?” the male officer looked at her.
“I’m fine!” Liu Xiaolei lifted her head and said.
“Do you know what you’re accused of?” The male officer put on an authoritative face, feigning severity.
“I haven’t committed any crime!” Liu Xiaolei shook her head.
“If you hadn’t committed a crime, would you be locked up here?” the male officer sneered and asked, “Do you want to get out?”
“Yes!” Liu Xiaolei nodded eagerly.
“Well, that’s easy,” the male officer smirked and said, “As long as you listen to me, I can get you out of here safe and sound. How about that?”
“How... how should I listen to you?” Liu Xiaolei became wary.
“Hehe...” the male officer’s smile grew more malicious as he said, “Just accompany me for dinner and drinks tonight, and first thing tomorrow, you’ll leave the police station unharmed. How does that sound?”
“Is that all? Just dinner and drinks?” Liu Xiaolei sneered upon hearing this, her lips curling with disdain. She had seen plenty of these tricks. Having lived in Shenzhen for so many years, she had met all kinds of people; the idea that the opposite party wanted to take advantage of her was truly vile.
“Hehe, it seems you are a smart woman!” the male officer grinned and said, “Spend the night with me, and I guarantee you will leave here unharmed tomorrow. Otherwise, if I charge you with intentional homicide and get you sentenced to ten or eight years, would you believe me?”
“Uh...” Liu Xiaolei heard this and asked, “Can you decide what crime I’m charged with?”
“Hehe, although I can’t decide on my own, I have connections,” the male officer said with that sly grin, then continued, “Just by making a call to someone higher up, your charges could be completely dismissed. But, if I ask them to slap you with a more serious charge, hehe, you might end up squatting in jail for a few more years.”
