Chapter 160 Making Trouble
Chapter 160 Making Trouble
```
"We have already registered," the police officer began, "but since it doesn't involve economic fraud or any dispute over interests, we will not initiate an investigation. Now please leave immediately, or we will charge you with disturbing the peace and invading someone else's office area."
"Damn it!" The parents grew desperate, "These cops are in cahoots with them, we shouldn't bother with them!"
Having said that, the parents became even more agitated.
Soon after, a group of them went berserk. After the police officers' warnings proved futile, they began to apprehend individuals. Overwhelmed by the sheer number of people, the four officers were quickly beaten black and blue.
"Call for backup!" the leading police officer yelled, covering his face.
When police get attacked, that counts as assaulting an officer. These four wouldn't let it slide easily. However, the parents had no understanding of the seriousness of the situation. They continued to wreak havoc on the scene, especially after the arrival of the police, becoming increasingly violent and starting to smash things around them.
It wasn't until the police's reinforcements arrived that they began to grasp the severity of what was happening. Staring at the group of officers, they were dumbfounded. More than ten riot police with shields immediately surrounded the area, and the leading officer bellowed, "Everyone stop right now!"
The scene fell silent in an instant, with everyone staring agape at the unfolding events, some even involuntarily raising their hands.
"What... what is this for?" A formidable parent, unafraid, stood up and lambasted the officers, "Are you even human? We're defending our legitimate rights!"
"Take them all in!" the leading officer commanded with a wave of his hand, "Anyone who resists, don't blame us for not being polite!"
The riot police did not carry guns but held batons ready to manage the unruly parents.
Under the intervention of the riot police, they finally ceased their resistance, each raising their hands high. Two restless parents tried to stir up trouble among the group. The moment they started, they were instantly subdued by a couple of officers and handcuffed, then dragged into the police car.
Before long, quiet was restored at the scene.
Students from Hanmen Training Class arrived at the scene one after another. They were all well aware of what had transpired earlier. The students sitting in the classroom were overjoyed, their faces beaming with bright smiles.
For them, being able to sit there was an honor. Many parents had clashed head-on to secure their children's return to Hanmen. Looking back, they felt fortunate; grateful their families were more accommodating and hadn't chosen the impulsive path like the others. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
The classroom was lively and bustling.
"Now that's better, the classroom's a lot quieter," Jiang Xiaoliang grinned, "Zi Han, with a third of the people gone, how do you feel?"
"Didn't you see what just happened outside?" Chen Zihan glanced at Jiang Xiaoliang and said, "There was such a big conflict and you don't care about them? You're only concerned about your own benefits?"
"Why should they choose to drop out?" Jiang Xiaoliang said contemptuously, "A bunch of opportunists. If they hadn't made that choice, we wouldn't be in this mess. I've always felt that Hanmen should have fewer students anyway. Cramming a hundred people in one classroom is not only too crowded, but the teachers can't attend to so many students.
In my opinion, even seventy is too many, fifty would be ideal and the most reasonable."
"You are so selfish," Chen Zihan snorted disapprovingly.
Li Yunpeng returned to the office.
"Elder Mr. Li, today's lesson was excellent," Xiao Han said earnestly. "You truly live up to being a seasoned teacher of many decades. The students listened very carefully; today's lesson was a success, and you've gained the approval of all the children."
"Ah..." Li Yunpeng shook his head and said, "To tell the truth, it's rather embarrassing. I haven't taught for several years and felt somewhat rusty today."
"Not rusty at all," Xiao Han laughed and then said, "I listened to your entire lesson, it was very good. The knowledge points you covered today are all important points listed by Huanggang Middle School. I think it was excellent."
"You flatter me, you flatter me," Li Yunpeng nodded.
Actually, Li Yunpeng was aware that his preparations had been rather thorough. He had been keeping up with the events in LJ City, especially concerning Hanmen. Now being more sensitive to matters involving Hanmen, particularly after becoming a teacher there, he made daily calls to his old friend Chen Rui Xiang to inquire about the situations at Hanmen.
He knew that recently there had been much tumult due to issues affecting Hanmen, with many parents causing trouble and even threatening to withdraw their children from the school.
Li Yunpeng felt great pressure, but still, he chose to ignore the external noise and focused on preparing his lessons and doing his best. Today's class was particularly wonderful, with a broad knowledge base and substantial content. All in all, this had been the first time in decades that Li Yunpeng had prepared for a class with such dedication and seriousness.
Fortunately, he was successful and had earned the students' respect.
In the evening, several people from the office went to a street food stall, ordered some late-night snacks, enjoyed a bottle of Baijiu, and then went back home.
......
The next day.
For the first time, Li Yunpeng indulged in a comfortable lie-in, something he had never experienced in years as he disliked sleeping in. But today was different. The success of the previous night had kept him awake all night, and he only managed to fall asleep in the early hours of the morning.
Li Yunpeng didn't get up until nine-thirty the next day.
After freshening up, before he had the chance to cook himself a bowl of noodles, a series of vigorous knocks came at the door.
"Who is it?" Li Yunpeng stood in the living room and called out loudly.
"Old Li, it's me!" Auntie Zhou shouted from outside the door.
Startled, Li Yunpeng hurried to the door, opened a crack, and looked out. Sure enough, it was Auntie Zhou from the Residents' Committee standing outside. He asked curiously, "You? What brings you here?"
"Good news, good news!" Auntie Zhou rushed to say, "Some folks from the TV station just came to the Residents' Committee, specifically asking for you, to have you do an interview."
"An interview?" Li Yunpeng was surprised, asking, "What kind of interview?"
"I heard you've become a teacher at the Hanmen Training Class?" Auntie Zhou said excitedly. "How wonderful, that has brought honor to our Fuxing Community. We didn't know our Fuxing Community had such an excellent teacher. Old Li, you better get ready quickly; they're waiting at the Residents' Committee. Don't keep the folks from the TV station waiting too long, do you hear?
It wouldn't be very polite!"
