Chapter 516: A cunning, intelligent, and dangerous woman
The next time Charlotte appeared, she was floating above an icy forest. Cecily Edevane, standing nearby, looked up and looked at her.
Charlotte looked a little indifferent. "You are insistent, Heiress."
"We, the Heirs, have always been superior to the Sorcerers. None of your kind have ever been able to match us. Even when you are in the majority, everyone in the end still falls against you. This generation should have been equal. Even the greatest of the current Sorcerers, Vanessa, is no one worthy to stand before me. That’s why I come here continually; for the first time, one who is worthy appeared."
Charlotte shrugged.
"To everything, there are exceptions, Heiress. Each of us was born with a different mission." She said as she descended and set her feet upon it, speaking again.
"You were born to lead the vampire race, but I was only born to lead myself and a small group of people. Even so, that small group is above the entire strength of the vampire race. Can you understand that? No one worthy appeared; a causality simply appeared, and you have stumbled upon it."
Cecily frowned. "What do you mean?"
"If you can’t figure it out, it’s not your time."
"You’re just as annoying as you were the first time."
"If you’d stop being so pushy and stressful, it would be nicer to see you. I might even consider you a friend, a potential sister. But your degree of insistence is annoying."
Cecily frowned even more, not understanding what the hell this woman was talking about.
"Even if someone worthy has appeared in your race, your dignity stems from your ability to grow. You are not yet worthy enough to face me in a head-on battle."
"I know. My sword skill is superior, but power is not with me. Still, the one who got hurt last time wasn’t me."
"Tsk, that’s why you don’t go down well."
"We think alike."
"This time, I came because of a curiosity that’s been gnawing at me for a while now."
"Just talk; I have guests to attend to. But I can listen to you once since we’ve been fighting for a long time."
"You’re not in favor of the human race; what’s your plan?" asked Cecily Edevane.
Charlotte looked at him and kept walking without answering until she passed them. "Cecily Edevane came again. I was fighting her."
"Her again? Why don’t we kill her once and for all?"
Charlotte looked sideways at the old man who proposed that.
"If we tried, she could possibly run away and use that as an excuse to start a war. We’re not prepared for that. Besides, if I don’t train with her, how do you expect me to develop my skills? I think you really need to clean up the elders; they’re getting senile and don’t remember things anymore." She looked pretty annoyed.
That made her master stop the rest of the elders from giving their opinions. "She must be upset about what happened recently. Don’t bother her." He whispered, and after a few words directed at Charlotte, they all flew off towards their mountains.
On the way to them, one of them opened his mouth.
"Sir, while we all understand that she is immensely talented, I think her way of doing things doesn’t make sense. She could end up putting a sword to our necks in the end if we leave her like this."
Another elder nodded.
"It’s not safe to depend on her. She’s too cunning and talented. Eventually, she’ll grow beyond our limit, and we won’t be able to control her."
"It would be a good idea to do something before that time comes."
All the elders voiced their opinions to the Leader of the Nevod Mountains, who is also the current Leader of the Race.
He smiled a little.
"Yes, she’s too talented and annoying. But don’t worry. The human race will win the next war because of her, but we will win our battle against her. I don’t trust her either; that’s why we are making our own plans." He replied.
.
On Charlotte’s mountain, Charlotte looked at the magic screen in front of her and sighed.
"A plan, eh... Vampires, Devourers, Humans, and other races. All together for one cause: to oust the Dietrich Legacy, eh... The plan is quite grand; I wonder if the Hill Clan will finally show up." She smiled.
If the game gets intense, her chessboard will have more moves, making the game more fun and dangerous.
’This time, it’s the two of us against more than three races, my love. You must beware of betrayals, don’t get overconfident, hard times are about to begin.’
