Chapter 220: The Rift Ends and Fate is Reshaped
"What?!" The observer's pupils contracted sharply. His body was blasted back several meters by the energy, and a trickle of blood spilled from his mouth.
“This power…” Mira murmured, the light blade in her hand teetering precariously from the core’s counterattack, “It has been completely unleashed!”
The hum of the Void Core grew deeper and more violent, and the tentacles within the cracks began to coalesce, gradually transforming into a gigantic, formless entity. This entity had no concrete face, yet it exuded a suffocating pressure, and every movement caused the surrounding space to tremble violently.
"The embodiment of eternal nothingness... has finally descended." The voice of the Chaos Core was tinged with complexity. "Your time is running out."
Isaac and Mira exchanged a glance and simultaneously raised their weapons: "No matter what it becomes, we must stop it!"
The two charged towards the Void Avatar simultaneously, the brilliance of the Blade of Rules and the Blade of Light intertwining to form a dazzling torrent of energy. Sensing their threat, the Void Avatar swung its massive arm down at them, unleashing a tremendous energy storm.
Isaac and Mira, aided by the power of rules and light, struggled to advance amidst the attacks of the Void Avatar. Their goal was not to directly destroy the Void Avatar, but to approach its core and completely sever the rift.
"Isaac! Seize its weakness!" Mira shouted, her light blade drawing an arc in the air, temporarily severing one of the Void Avatar's arms.
Isaac seized the opportunity, and the Blade of Rules erupted with intense light, slashing towards the core's aura. A crack appeared on the surface of the aura, but the core's reaction was even more violent.
“It’s struggling!” Isaac shouted. “Give me a little more time!”
"I'll cover you!" Mira quickly stepped in front of Isaac, using her light blade to repel the approaching shadowy guardian.
The power of the Blade of Rules gradually permeated the core's aura, the reverse flow of the cracks began to slow, and the movements of the Void Avatar also became sluggish. However, just when the two thought success was imminent, the Void Core suddenly emitted a piercing shriek.
The core aura suddenly shattered, and a blinding white light erupted from it, blasting Isaac and Mira away. The two crashed heavily to the ground, their weapons slipping from their hands.
“This is impossible…” Isaac barely managed to lift his head and saw a new form gradually emerging from the center of the core.
The form was clearer than the avatar of nothingness, its outline filled with an aura of foreboding and destruction. The observer's face turned deathly pale, and he whispered, "This is the true eternal nothingness; it has fully awakened."
The embodiment of eternal nothingness hovered silently in the center of the crack. It did not attack, but instead emitted a deep voice that seemed to penetrate directly into everyone's heart: "You think you can change my fate? No, you are merely my tools. Fate and chaos, rules and freedom, all exist for my birth."
"Don't listen to it!" Mira struggled to her feet, gripping the light blade tightly once more. "It's just trying to break our will!"
Isaac gritted his teeth and stood up, gripping the blade of rules once more. His gaze was resolute, his voice firm: "Our destiny can only be decided by ourselves!"
The observer looked at Isaac and said in a low voice, "Now there are only two choices—use the full power of the Blade of Rules and the Blade of Light to completely destroy the core; or merge with the core and create an unknown universe with new power."
"Merge?" Mira looked at the Observer in astonishment. "Doesn't that mean...we'll lose everything?"
“Yes,” the observer nodded, “but destroying the core will also lead to unpredictable consequences. Your choice will determine everything.”
Isaac and Mira exchanged a glance, their hearts heavy with an overwhelming sense of pressure.
“Mira, what do you think?” Isaac asked in a low voice.
Mira took a deep breath, her eyes resolute: "No matter the cost, I will stand by your side."
Isaac gripped the Blade of Rules, his gaze fixed on the core: "Then... let's end this in our own way!"
The two launched their final assault simultaneously.
Isaac and Mira stood at the edge of the rift, the ultimate avatar of the Void Core hovering before them, its massive body enveloping the entire rift, like an insurmountable mountain. It had no fixed face, but its deep, icy voice echoed in everyone's minds:
"Choose, life. Merge with me and usher in a new universe, or continue to struggle and become dust in the chaotic ruins."
"Don't listen to it!" the Fate Watcher shouted, his voice filled with anxiety. "The Eternal Nothingness is merely using your power to complete its rule! Destroy it, that's the only option!"
The Chaos Core let out a low laugh: "Destroy it? That's just the beginning of another cycle. Fusion is the only way to break the cycle."
"Whether it's reincarnation or destruction, we don't need to be forced to make a choice!" Isaac gripped the Blade of Rules, his eyes gleaming with determination. He turned to Mira and whispered, "Mira, we must resolve this in our own way."
Mira nodded, the light of the blade gradually intensifying in her hand: "No matter what the future holds, as long as we stand here, we will not let it decide everything."
Isaac and Mira charged simultaneously, the brilliance of the Blade of Rules and the Blade of Light intertwining into a dazzling torrent that hurtled straight toward the core of nothingness. However, just as they were about to reach the core, a tremendous force of recoil erupted from its depths, blasting the two of them back dozens of meters.
“A foolish struggle.” A cold laugh escaped the voice of the Void Core. “Your power is insignificant; before the absolute rules, it is nothing but a futile struggle.”
"We will not give up!" Isaac gritted his teeth, struggling to his feet. His gaze remained unwavering, and the Blade of Rules in his hand once again erupted with a dazzling golden light. "The combination of rules and freedom is our only weapon!"
Mira gripped the light blade tightly, its silver light reflecting on her face: "Its power is immense, but it is not invincible!"
The two charged towards the core again, wielding their weapons to strike the halo on its surface. The light blades clashed violently with the light of the Blade of Rules, finally tearing a crack in the core's surface.
The appearance of the crack caused the core's halo to vibrate violently, and the energy flow within the crack also changed. The crack, which had been expanding outwards, began to contract, and the surrounding space became unstable, as if it might collapse at any moment.
"You've succeeded!" the Fate Watcher shouted. "Keep attacking! The core is losing its balance!"
However, the Void Core was not completely suppressed. Its voice grew deeper, filled with boundless rage: "You think you can destroy me? Foolish! I will devour everything of yours and reshape my own universe!"
