Chapter 143 New World Voyage Record 1: The Upside-Down Forest, Everything Upside Down!
The black submarine warship adjusted its course on the sea surface and left the crystalline and eerie sea of crystals.
Brian knew perfectly well that the time Rocks had given him was precious and must be used for the most valuable exploration and enhancement. The remaining month was a rare opportunity for him to "farm and develop".
Instead of heading straight back to Beehive Island, he decisively steered his route deep into the most peculiar and chaotic heartland of the New World, places he had never been before.
Having only been in this world for a few years, he spent most of his time developing his strength in a lowly manner. Once he was sufficiently developed, he set sail and immediately joined the Rocks Pirates.
All things considered, Brian really hasn't gone out much, or rather, hasn't seen much of the world.
There's still time, and the new world is still relatively "stable." If we don't get to experience this world now, the next time we have the leisure and time to do so might be several years from now.
Voyages to the New World are a constant challenge to existing knowledge.
The warship traversed raging currents, steered by the dragon girl Ella. With her immense strength and exceptional adaptability to the warship and the new world environment, she maintained a stable course.
Soon after, they entered an island group known as the "Upside-Down Forest." The scenery there was completely beyond comprehension, leaving everyone in awe.
The entire sea area seemed to be torn apart by a tremendous force, and a reverse gravitational field enveloped the island.
The giant trees and rocks on the island grow in a way that defies the laws of nature, with their roots pointing upwards and their branches downwards. From a distance, the enormous canopies resemble green clouds hanging upside down on the sea, almost merging with the cumulus clouds in the sky.
The entire island group looks like a series of giant bonsai trees scattered haphazardly on the sea, spectacular yet bizarre.
"This sight is simply a miracle." On the bridge, Otohime looked at the upside-down world outside the porthole, her eyes filled with awe.
Having lived on Fishman Island her entire life, she had never witnessed such a scene before; it was simply astonishing.
Otohime thought she had seen all the mysteries of the sea and that nothing could compare to the terror and magnificence of the deep sea, but the power of the new world repeatedly overturned her understanding.
Ella cautiously activated the warship's gravity stabilization system to ensure safe navigation, her ancient instincts causing her unease about this distorted natural law.
"Master, the gravitational field here is extremely unstable, a permanent consequence of human intervention," Ella's voice came through the loudspeaker. "We must remain absolutely vigilant; any tiny fluctuation in gravity could tear the warship apart instantly."
Brian's lips curled into an interested smile. This kind of power that could permanently alter the laws of nature was no ordinary thing; it must have been backed by ancient advanced technology or powerful abilities.
"This is the true charm of the new world."
Brian stood up and walked to the deck. "Berlos, Agni, come with me to the island. Leona, you stay on the warship with the other monster girls."
Under Brian's command, the warships slowly approached one of the largest upside-down islands. They landed on the island along the coastline, which was distorted by the gravitational field.
Everything on the island is reversed; with every step they take, they must fight against the strange gravitational pull that tries to overturn them, or they will float upwards.
"It feels somewhat similar to being in space, where your body is pulled upwards by gravity; it's truly amazing."
Brian shared his feelings, saying it was indeed amazing, reminding him of space, even though he had never been there, he had seen it in videos in his previous life.
"This feeling is so strange!" While adjusting to the bizarre gravity, Boros enveloped his entire body in flames to help stabilize his balance.
Agni nimbly weaved through the air, her petite body seemingly unaffected and quite agile.
Brian's attention was already drawn to an ancient ruin in the center of the island, covered by huge vines, and he didn't pay much attention to the two of them.
The stone walls of this ruin are covered with strange runes and murals. These murals depict a lost ancient civilization, its inhabitants dressed in strange clothing, holding glowing minerals, seemingly performing complex rituals to manipulate the gravity around the island.
Brian immediately activated his powerful Observation Haki, scanning and memorizing all the details of the runes and murals.
He was surprised to find that although these documents were tattered, they seemed to record some information about an ancient civilization, whose understanding and application of the law of gravity reached an astonishing level.
"Although this world is one where strength reigns supreme, this kind of extraordinary technology and knowledge is also a major characteristic of this world."
Brian knew perfectly well just how advanced the world's cutting-edge technology was; his monster girl army was one of the manifestations of that technology.
This is especially evident in Vegapunk, whose brain, which is more than 500 years ahead of human capabilities, is truly extraordinary.
Not to mention the legendary ancient weapons, including Uranus and Hades, which represent a major technological breakthrough, with only Poseidon being a materialized creature.
Brian considered this information invaluable, as it provided him with entirely new and forward-thinking ideas for the technological transformation and weapons development of his future legion. Once he integrated this ancient knowledge with his own system technology, he might even be able to create strategic weapons capable of changing the course of battle.
Agni and Boros were not idle during the exploration of the ruins.
They used this special training ground for sparring practice, performing dazzling dodges and surprise attacks in the anti-gravity field. Their flames even made a small breakthrough in this chaotic gravitational field, which was a decent achievement.
"Master, the gravity minerals here are very special and can be used as the core material for the gravity stabilization system of a submarine warship." Agni handed Brian several pieces of ore dug out from the ruins.
Brian took the ore, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction: "Very good. When we get back, we'll send out a group of monster girls and a maid squad to collect these ores. They'll be very useful in the future."
"Yes, Master."
After collecting enough ancient documents and special minerals, Brian and his two companions returned to the ship. Then, the monster girl army and the maid squad set off together towards the island.
They stayed on the island for three full days, collecting enough ore before regrouping and setting sail again from the Upside-Down Forest.
"The routes to the new world are endless, but my time is limited."
Brian stood on the bridge, his gaze fixed on an area marked by purple mist on the nautical chart.
"Our next destination is Poison Fog Island. It's said that the entire island is shrouded in poisonous fog and is practically barren."
"Where there are few people, there might be something good. Let's go and take a look."
He issued a new command to the communication monster girl: "Adjust course, full speed ahead, target: Poison Mist Island."
"OK!"
Ella's voice came through the loudspeaker: "Turn the rudder, move forward!"
