Chapter 253 | 253 | The Battle for Servusarator: Minos Rebellion Part 9

*Bang!* *Bang!* *Bang!* *Bang!*

Within the intricate streets of the capital city of Minos, firefights swallowed the once pleasant avenue of the cityscape. The rebels fought with great resolve, undeterred by the accelerating deaths of their supposed comrades. Dozens of corpses lay upon the streets, bringing upon puddles of crimson blood. These Minokins remained determined until the end, akin to maddened loyalist.

*BBRRrrrrrttt!*

"Take that heavy machine gun position down! Or we won't be able to move forward!" A staff sergeant shouted, shooting at the heavy machine gunner with ferocity. Their enemies were crazy bastards, much maddening than anything they had ever fought before.

"Sir, the Javelin is loaded. Ready to fire at the gun emplacements, give us cover!" A soldier reported to the staff sergeant, who nodded in understanding and roared. "Alright, give them hell!" He ordered towards his subordinates, and kept firing at the gun emplacements before them.

Being pinned down didn't feel good, especially when they were the ones besieging the capital city of Minos. But the circumstance of the battle wouldn't always stay the same. It was time for them to begin the counter-assault, after all, they had a government building to capture.

*BRrrrttt!*

*Bang!* *Bang!* *Bang!* *Bang!*

"Rear cleared! Javelin aimed!" The soldier carrying the Javelin pointed it towards the heavy machine gun placement while calling out. Behind the soldier was emptied of any personnel as the backblast of the Javelin was somewhat hazardous to those that become expose of it.

Calming himself down, the soldier fired the Javelin at the gun emplacement, feeling the recoil over his shoulders. The warhead flew out of the weapon system's forefront as it soared through the small battlefield. It pierced through the air, swiftly impacting the heavy machine gun emplacement, resulting in an immediate explosion.

*BOOM!*

It was a direct hit, which should have taken care of the gun emplacement that was pinning them down.

"The bastard is gone! Move forward and don't let the opportunity come to waste!" The staff sergeant roared as they had been given the opportunity to leave the pinned down position. He was the first one to leave, giving the direction of the rebels a tinge of suppressive fire.

His men followed from behind as they also fired at the direction where the rebels were last seen. It didn't take long before they entered another concrete house, which should provide them cover from the ongoing chaos outside. Though, as they entered the building, the squad quickly began clearing it of any adversaries, ensuring their security.

"Clear!"

The wall beside them was hit by a sniper bullet. Without any hesitation, the soldiers gave suppressive fire towards the direction where the bullet came from and rapidly entered through the building. Another bullet pierced through the door, but fortunately, none of them were hit.

"Damn snipers!" The staff sergeant cursed as he hid behind the wall near the windows and took a glimpse of the direction where the bullet was fired at. There were glints from their scopes, earning the furrowed eyebrows of the staff sergeant. He turned his attention to the communication operator and ordered.

"Give the coordinates of that building to the artillery battalion. Tell them we need some ground support." When the communication operator head the staff sergeant, he nodded in understanding and radioed to the artillery battalion in the rear. He began reporting the coordinates of the targeted building, which was confirmed by the other side.

The squad continued to keep their position in the building as the snipers fired at them without care. But it didn't take a minute for a shell to hit the targeted building where the snipers resided.

*BOOM!*

An explosion resounded from the second floor, but it was immediately followed by several more shells. The soldiers took their cover as explosions succeeded the shell impacts. It was deafening as the staff sergeant squinted his eyes in instinct.

*BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!* *BOOM!*

The sniper building collapsed, bringing about a dusted fog to cover the streets. But the smoke brought about by the explosion gave them an advantage. Without a tinge of hesitation and delay, the staff sergeant left the building and entered the nearby houses.

They noticed the broken walls and walked through it while keeping their eyes wide open. The government building wasn't that far as it was observable in the eyes. The only thing they needed to do was keep moving forward until they reach it.

The situation was the same all over the landscape of the capital city of Minos. The soldiers of the United Military were advancing through, regardless of the fierce resistance portrayed by the Minos Rebels. Even the city walls had long fallen under the control of the United Military.

Only the central interiors of the capital city remained within the influence of the rebels. But the United Military was trudging in, as steady as an unstoppable flood. There was nothing the Minos Rebels could do but use their bodies to buy time for their so-called War Minister.

Above the capital city of Minos, a lone AC-130 circled around the cityscape, pummeling rebel fortifications into the ground. Its armaments bombarded the rebels, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. There was no rival that resided in the azure skies with it.

Ensuring the angel of death could dismantle the traitors of the United World Government with its arsenal. But as it circled around the landscape that had been devastated by war, it noticed a convoy escaping the government building heading eastward. The CSO within the heavy gunship quickly reported the intelligence to the United Military.

*This is Petrol-05, reporting an armored convoy leaving the government building. The convoy is heading eastward, heading towards the eastern gate of the capital city.* The CSO concluded his report, which was immediately received from the other side.

*Affirmative, Perold-05. Sending Gunships to the eastern gate for support.* With the response, the CSO nodded to himself and continued pummeling the remaining rebel fortifications scattered throughout the capital city of Minos.

On the other hand, an Apache soared through the sky and arrived above its destination. It hovered over the eastern gate, waiting for the incoming armored convoy that was planning to escape the capital city.
