Chapter 154: | 154 | An Intelligence Report
In the hallway leading to the fleet admiral's office, amidst the calm and silence, a group of intelligence officers walked through it with file reports between their arms and chest. Serious expressions found itself plastered on their faces signifying their urgent matter.
Even though it was the weekend where almost everyone was not working, an intelligence report about their adversary must be made. So, they planned to report to the fleet admiral of the United Navy about the pressing matters of the Colonial Dominion of Terra.
It didn't take long before they arrived in front of the fleet admiral's office. All of them stopped moving and took a deep breath. Regardless the alarming state of the situation, they were about to meet the fleet admiral, the highest authority of the United Navy.
It was hard to not get nervous when planning to meet him.
One of the intelligence officers stepped forward and knocked onto the door of the fleet admiral's office. *Knock!* *Knock!* *Knock!* Each knock resounded throughout the hallway as if announcing their presence. No matter how much they had done such thing. It was difficult to get used to it.
The intelligence officers calmly waited, and it didn't take long before a response from their fleet admiral came. "Get in." Hearing his words, they swiftly opened the door and were met with the sight of the legendary dragon standing behind the fleet admiral, observing at the city outside.
"What are you doing in the branch building? Shouldn't all of you be in your houses, spending time on your own in the weekends?" Abraham questioned with raised eyebrows. He crossed his arms as their unexpected intrusion into his office didn't do him good.
His visitors noticed his grave expression and crossed arms. They noticed that he wasn't in the good mood, and it seems that their visit had made it worse. Though, the intelligence officers saluted while one of them stepped forward.
"We are here for an urgent report, Fleet Admiral. It wasn't something that we could hold on as it covers intelligence about our territories and the movements of the Colonial Dominion of Terra." The intelligence officer stated their reasons to the fleet admiral, making him furrow his eyebrows.
Although he was dissatisfied by their intrusion, he understood that he mustn't be selfish. The intelligence officers were simply doing their job, and besides... It appears that something troublesome had emerged.
With this in mind, Abraham sighed and looked at the intelligence officers directly in the eyes, losing his annoyance in the process. "All of you have worked hard! Tell me everything you know! Don't leave a single detail."
""Affirmative!!!"" All of them bowed and began reporting one by one. They eloquently reported the reports written in their files and summarized it as to not waste more of the fleet admiral's time. Abraham calmly listened to each of their reports, understanding their depth.
The first report was mainly about the repairs of the damaged frigates. As expected, most of them were repaired without much of a problem, but there were issues with the critically-damaged ones. Repairing them required an actual dockyard as the hull of these frigates were too damaged.
There were two critically-damaged frigates, which took a hit into the United Navy's naval power. It was a problem that needed to be solve as quick as possible. After all, the war between the United Navy and the Colonial Dominion of Terra hadn't ended yet.
All of their forces must be up and operational.
"The traps of the Magus Tower will be given focus in a strategic meeting before the final battle. For now, report this intelligence to the strategists and the commanding officers of the fleet."
"And finally, the southern colony will receive the following reinforcements. The UNS Ceaseless Skies will begin aerial dominance over its skies and begin strategic airstrike to remaining colonial military encampment. I will also send UNS Wayward Son."
"The 3rd, 4th, and 5th Battalion of the United Army will be sent to quell the revolt and defeat the remains of the colonial military." Abraham's last words were an order. He was sending an actual military into the ground of the southern colony.
"A-Are you sure that it is the right answer, Fleet Admiral?" One of the intelligence officers questioned as enacting a military action over a revolt was bound to have problems.
Abraham unknowingly glared at the intelligence officer questioning him, sending shivers into the officer's spine. He looked directly into their eyes and answered their question. There was a reason why he was sending the army into the ground.
"While they do have their hatred against humans, there is another reason why they revolted out of nowhere. These bastards consider us as easier opponents compared to the colonial military. After all, we always held back our force against the enslaved."
"They are using our mercy against us, something I can't simply forgive after liberating them. Regardless of their hatred, they must be taught a lesson. The United Navy isn't a force to be reckon it. Don't mistake mercy for weakness." His words resounded throughout his office.
Laplace gave an applaud after hearing the short speech of the fleet admiral. "That is my, Abraham. Kindness can be given once, but it can't be given twice. They have already made their stance clear."
"They aren't slaves anymore."
Hearing the words of the two highest authorities in the United Navy, the intelligence officers saluted and accepted the orders of the fleet admiral. One after another, they left the confines of his quarters, making silence return to where it came.
With the two of them left alone, Laplace stood beside Abraham, staring at him with a scary smile. Abraham wondered to himself as to how he had wronged the dragoness. However, regardless of his thoughtful questions, he could only accept what was to come.
She slowly move her hand and gave him a light smack on the head.
*Pack!*
"Ack!" Abraham held his head tightly and felt his brain ringing. Although it was light, she was still the dragoness. Her version light was different than his light. After smacking him, Laplace glared at the middle-aged man and pouted.
"Although it made me excited, doing it in your office really was a bad idea, Abraham."
Her legs lightly quivered as white liquid dripped onto the floor.
