Chapter 124 The Mark
Chapter 124 The Mark
Hela pressed down on Aina's scalp, and the power of death seeped into Aina's nerves, forcibly waking them from their alcohol-numbed state.
Aina opened her eyes in pain, and her face turned deathly pale when she saw who was in front of her: "Hai... Lady Hela..."
"What did that woman ask?" Hela's voice rang out, and the temperature in the entire tavern dropped several degrees. A fine layer of ice crystals appeared in the glass in front of Aina.
Aina's teeth chattered uncontrollably: "She...she asked the new king...asked what the new king's weaknesses were."
Hela narrowed her eyes slightly: "What did you say?"
"I...I just told her...told her there was a woman named Wanda..." Einar's voice trailed off as Hela's expression grew increasingly grim.
Hela released her grip, and Aina collapsed to the ground: "Do you know what you're doing?"
Aina knelt down and crawled to Hela's legs, hugging them tightly: "My lady! I only wanted revenge on Asgard! I didn't know she was..."
Hela raised her hand and a dark green energy pierced through Aina's chest. The other customers in the tavern fled in panic at the sight, while the bartender cowered and trembled behind the counter.
Hela walked to the tavern door, her voice echoing throughout Vanaheim: "Listen, everyone! Those who betray the King will only face death."
Stepping out of the tavern, Hela closed her eyes and sensed the lingering energy fluctuations in the air. An energy characteristic not belonging to any race in the Nine Realms still lingered in the air; it was the energy aura of the Kree's biotechnology. Hela followed this aura to an abandoned barn.
Inside the barn, Minerva sensed the impending danger and hurriedly destroyed the last piece of data. She quickly put on an invisibility device, and her figure gradually became transparent.
"You think you can fool me with this kind of trick?" Hela's voice came from all around.
Miyanwa froze on the spot, her invisibility device suddenly malfunctioning. She turned around and saw Hela emerging from the shadows, holding a jet-black longsword.
"The Kree Empire's agents are quite audacious," Hela sneered.
Miyanwa quickly assessed the situation and realized he had no chance of winning. Without hesitation, he pressed the communication device on his waist, but there was no response.
"This space has been sealed off." Hela approached Miyanwa step by step. "You can't go anywhere."
Without hesitation, Miyanwa pulled an energy dagger from her boot and stabbed it into her own neck. She would rather commit suicide than become a prisoner. But the dagger stopped a centimeter away from her throat. Miyanwa felt an invisible force locking her hand firmly.
Haila grabbed Miyanwa's neck and said coldly, "Death is my domain. You can't even die without my permission."
Miyanwa felt a sharp pain as some kind of dark energy invaded her nervous system, and her consciousness gradually blurred.
Inside the Golden Palace, the Holy Lord was inspecting the third weapon sent by the dwarves—a shield capable of reflecting any magical attack.
"Master," Wanda suddenly looked up and said, "Hela has returned, with a prisoner."
The light of the rainbow bridge flashed, and Hela dragged the heavily injured Miyanwa into the hall and threw her onto the steps at the feet of the Holy Lord.
"A Kree spy." Hela knelt on one knee. "She's gathering intelligence on you and Wanda in Vanaheim."
The Holy Lord turned his gaze to Miyanwa, the light of the Mind Gem flashing in his eyes, and Miyanwa's memories gradually unfolded before the Holy Lord.
"They were sent by the Supreme Wisdom." The Holy Lord withdrew his gaze, a hint of amusement in his voice. "They want to find my weakness."
A flash of chaos magic crossed Wanda's eyes: "They dare!"
"Calm down." Shendu raised his hand to stop Wanda. "This is an opportunity for us."
The Holy Lord stepped down from his throne and stood before Miyanwa: "You will become my gift to the Supreme Wisdom."
Miyanwa was horrified to find her body flying up uncontrollably, and no matter how hard she struggled, it was no use.
The Holy Lord raised his hand and gently touched Miyanwa's forehead, and a complex mark appeared on Miyanwa's forehead.
The voice of the Holy Lord resounded in the mind of the Supreme Intelligence: "Go back and tell the Supreme Intelligence that time is running out. The barrier grants the Kree Empire a choice: submit or be destroyed."
Miyanwa felt a dizzying sensation, and the next moment she found herself on a watchtower on the border of the Kree Empire. The words of the Holy Lord still echoed in her mind: "Remember, from now on you serve the Kree Empire and are also loyal to me."
Inside the Supreme Hall, Miyanwa knelt before the enormous blue sphere to report the situation, only able to tell the Supreme Wisdom that he had barely managed to escape.
"Your failure was expected." The cold, mechanical voice of the Supreme Intelligence echoed in the hall: "We are not facing an ordinary enemy. Even if you were the best undercover agent in the Kree Empire, you would not succeed."
"What should we do next?" Miyanwa felt the runes deep within his soul were slightly warming up.
"Calculations show that the chance of winning a direct confrontation with the Holy Lord is less than 0.03%." The blue sphere dimmed slightly: "The Kree Empire will not yield. Initiate the Ragnarok Protocol."
Mi Yanwa's pupils contracted slightly: "That agreement is still only theoretical..."
"Execute the order." The Supreme Intelligence interrupted her: "Such power cannot exist within the Nine Realms."
Asgard.
"Master, do you really want to conquer the Kree Empire?" Wanda asked softly.
"Conquer?" The corners of Shendu's mouth curled up slightly. "No, Wanda, I just need to make them understand that their technology and army are meaningless to me in the face of true power."
Three of the Kree Empire's newest "Starspear" class reconnaissance ships hovered at the edge of the nebula. The quantum cloaking coating on their surfaces made them almost blend into the cosmic background. Inside the bridge, reconnaissance captain Tal Kos was examining the star field marked "Nine Realms" on the holographic star map.
"The energy readings have risen again." The adjutant pointed to the wildly fluctuating data stream. "We've never seen this kind of energy characteristic before."
Tal frowned: "The Supreme Wisdom instructs us not to act rashly, but only to observe and record."
Suddenly, a piercing alarm sounded.
"Space tear detected!" The sensor operator's voice trembled. "Energy level...out of measurement range!"
A rift appeared in the pitch-black universe outside the porthole, from which dark golden light poured out, and a tall figure holding a long spear emerged from the spatial rift.
"It's...it's him!" Tal recognized the figure in the intelligence footage: "Full ship retreat! Activate the hyperspace engine immediately!"
But it was too late. The Holy Lord raised the Eternal Spear, the "Heart of the Black Sun" at its tip devouring the surrounding light. With a gentle throw, the spear transformed into a dark golden lightning bolt that tore through space.
