Lin Qingping and Gu Juncheng

Chapter 27 Gu Juncheng, I'm cold...

Chapter 27 Gu Juncheng, I'm cold...

"Lin Qingping." He sat on the edge of the bed and called her name.

She fell into such a deep sleep in just a short while.

Because of the fever, her whole face was flushed red, her eyes were slightly watery, and her lips were very dry and peeling.

His breathing was heavy.

"Lin Qingping?" He supported her neck and helped her up, his voice a little louder.

She did wake up, her eyes opening a crack, glistening with tears. She was weak and limp, and leaned against Gu Juncheng's shoulder again.

"Gu Juncheng..." she murmured his name, her breath hitting the skin of his neck with an astonishing heat.

"Here, take your medicine." Gu Juncheng placed the water glass to her lips, wanting to moisten them first.

But she leaned on his shoulder and fell into a deep sleep again.

Gu Juncheng: ...

"Lin Qingping? Lin Qingping?"

I can't wake her up no matter how I call her.

Gu Juncheng touched her forehead, and whether it was psychological or not, it felt even hotter.

No, I have to wake her up!

"Lin Qingping?" He gently patted her face.

Perhaps his hands were too cold, while hers were warm and felt comfortable against them, so she unconsciously leaned closer, rubbing her burning face against his palm.

"Wake up! Take your medicine, Lin Qingping?" He patted her and shouted.

She finally woke up, hummed, and obediently opened her mouth.

Gu Juncheng immediately put the pill into her mouth, not even bothering to moisten her lips, afraid that she would fall asleep again.

She wasn't fully conscious, and she just put the food in her mouth. The next moment, her face contorted in pain, and all her features were scrunched up.

"Bitter..." she said, her face contorted in pain, as she tried to spit out the medicine.

"Don't spit it out!" he ordered, and immediately fed her the water.

She lowered her head and took a big gulp, managing to swallow the medicine, but the bitter taste lingered.

"It's so bitter..." she said, sticking out her tongue.

Gu Juncheng put a small piece of rock candy into her mouth, and she finally stopped whimpering.

Anyway, I finally managed to take the medicine.

When Gu Juncheng put her back on the pillow, she asked, seemingly half-awake and half-asleep, "Gu Juncheng, how did you know I'm afraid of bitterness?"

He paused for a moment, then said, "Yes, I heard about it."

Lin Qingping turned over and went to sleep. In her drowsy state, she thought, "That's right. In the six months since she got married, her reputation in Gujia Village has indeed been bad. People say she's afraid of hardship and fatigue. They must have heard about it here by now."

"Gu Juncheng, don't sleep on the floor, it's cold..." she reminded him, still half asleep.

"Ah."

Gu Juncheng agreed, and seeing that she was sleeping soundly, he took another quilt from the cabinet, spread it next to her, and lay down to sleep.

He was a very alert sleeper, and besides, he had a "mission" given to him by Dr. Shi tonight. So, after sleeping for a while, he woke up on his own, touched the forehead of the person next to him, and found it ice-cold...

Further down, the neck felt warm, and more importantly, my hand was covered in sweat.

The fever has subsided, but I'm sweating so much, it's like I've been sleeping in water. Could it be that I'm getting worse again?

He looked at Lin Qingping, ultimately feeling helpless.

Fortunately, there was water in the thermos, so I filled it with hot water to wipe her sweat and found some clothes for her to change into.

It was cold, so the whole thing was done under the covers. However, he inevitably came into contact with her skin, which was smooth and slippery to the touch. He could only hurry up and put her clothes on.

I thought things would finally calm down.

She leaned closer, still half asleep, and said, "Gu Juncheng, I'm cold..."

Gu Juncheng thought of her drenched in sweat and wondered if the sheets and blankets were also wet...

He was still thinking when something cool and icy brushed against his calf and landed on his blanket.

I used to crave coolness, and now I crave heat...

Seemingly sensing the heat source, what started as a tentative touch of coolness quickly became a sensation as Gu Juncheng's legs were enveloped by the icy touch.

Then, my arms were filled with cold stuff.

She found her way to him and clung tightly to him, this great source of warmth.

Gu Juncheng felt as if he were holding a large block of ice, but no matter what, he couldn't push the ice away anymore, so he could only hold her tightly.

He was warm both by the blanket and by himself, and gradually, he began to feel the ice in his arms slowly warming up.

Lin Qingping, however, began to dream.

She dreamt that she was about to die.

She was sick and bedridden. Her nephew came to visit her, and she thought he was there to show his filial piety. However, her nephew had a ferocious look on his face and kept telling her to die.

The moment her nephew pulled out her oxygen tube, she saw Gu Juncheng. She really saw him…

The young Gu Juncheng, with his handsome features and upright, strong physique, walked towards her.

Tears streaming down her face, she called his name and asked, "Gu Juncheng, am I going to die?"

She asked the question in her dream, but in reality, Gu Juncheng, who was holding her, heard it.

He heard her murmurs in her sleep and felt her wet tears soaking his clothes.

Upon hearing this, he frowned. "What nonsense are you talking about? It's just a cold and fever, why would I die?"

Lin Qingping didn't hear his words; she was dreaming.

Only in dreams.

In her dream, she saw Gu Juncheng reach out his hand to her and say, "Lin Qingping, come home with me."

She burst into tears immediately, nodding vigorously, and ran towards Gu Juncheng, "Okay, Gu Juncheng, take me home! Take me home..."

In the darkness, Gu Juncheng, who was holding her, heard her murmur: "Gu Juncheng, take me home," and he was stunned.

Early in the morning, before dawn, Gu Juncheng had to get up.

The moment he woke up, he knew she no longer had a fever, because her forehead was right next to his lips, and with the slightest movement, he could feel the delicate skin of her forehead rubbing against his lips.

He immediately stopped moving.

After a brief standoff, he got up, tucked her in, washed up, and went out.

Lin Qingping had a very comfortable sleep. When she woke up, she felt much lighter. Looking down, she saw that all her clothes had been changed, and she felt dry and comfortable, without the stickiness of sweating from a fever.

She stood there stunned for a while, then lay back down. The blankets still held his warmth...

Unfortunately, I'm not strong enough. I finally made it here, but I fell seriously ill and became unconscious!

She lingered in bed, lost in thought for a while, before finally getting up, realizing she couldn't be lazy any longer.

After getting up, I found a note on the table with a few bold and powerful characters written on it: Remember to take your medicine!

Next to it, two small paper bags containing medicine were laid out, with each type of medicine clearly labeled on how to take it.

It can only be said that when a person likes another person, everything about them seems good.

In her past life, Gu Juncheng had no redeeming qualities in her eyes. She was too lazy to even read the letters he wrote back, so her in-laws had to find someone else to read them to. Of course, he never mentioned her in those letters.

But now, she only felt that Gu Juncheng was good in every way. It wasn't the first time she had seen his handwriting, but she still felt that every single character was written so well!
