Chapter 244 Distress
Chapter 244 Distress
There is indeed a bus stop at the school, but it's a short distance from the bus stop to the school.
There are streetlights, but they are not bright enough.
Lin Qingping had walked this road countless times and never imagined there would be any problems.
It was late at night, and there was almost no one on the street.
Just as she was about to turn a corner and walk along a dark road to reach the school, someone suddenly covered her mouth and nose from behind.
She struggled fiercely, trying to bite, kick, and pry the person's hands off her, but to no avail. She couldn't make a sound and was dragged away like that.
In desperation, she could only tear off whatever she could from her body and throw it on the ground, while struggling violently, not wanting to miss any chance to break free and escape.
However, the person behind her struck her directly on the back of the head. She felt a sharp pain on the back of her head, her vision went black, and she lost consciousness.
When Lin Qingping woke up again, she was already in a smelly room.
The room was empty except for a bed, a smelly blanket, and leftover moldy buns.
She was thrown into a pile of straw, her hands and feet were tied, and her mouth was gagged.
The door is locked.
She didn't know who had brought her here, nor did she know where she was.
She explored everything in the room. There was a window, but it was dark outside. She was tied up and couldn't possibly climb out. In her current situation, she couldn't find even the slightest way to save herself.
The bed was broken; the wooden frame was broken.
She moved little by little until she reached the broken wooden bed frame, leaned against it, and rubbed and shrugged against it, not knowing if she could break the ropes, but she had to try.
After only a short while, there was a noise outside; it was the sound of people talking.
Then the door opened from the outside and three people came in, all dressed in gray and black and wearing hats. Lin Qingping recognized one of them as Wen Xiao, the man from Hong Kong.
The moment she entered, I noticed her position was wrong, and then I realized her intentions.
The man from the port city sneered, "Trying to escape?"
After saying that, he slapped her across the head.
Lin Qingping's mind went blank.
This person is such a good actor!
I met him twice, and he always acted like someone who couldn't even kill a chicken. I never expected him to be such a bad guy!
"What do you want to do?" Lin Qingping asked, her face trembling with fear.
"What are you doing?" The man from the port city chuckled with a hint of wickedness. "You'll have to ask your man! We were supposed to keep to ourselves, but he had to come and provoke me!"
"Brother Leopard, this is not a safe place to stay," the two men behind him reminded him.
The guy called Leopard snorted, "Go! Take him away!"
Lin Qingping was lifted up.
The rope in her hand hadn't been cut yet, but she now held something else—a small piece of wood that had fallen off the broken wooden frame of the old bed. She touched it and found it had a sharp point.
She was lifted up and carried outside. As she passed the doorway, one of her shoes came off.
Outside the door, a small jeep was parked.
"Get in the car!" Wenxiao, a man from the port city, said.
The other two threw her into the car; one drove, while the other and the guy called Leopard sat on either side of her.
The three of them, without saying a word, drove off at high speed with her in tow.
Her mind raced.
Judging from the road outside, they weren't on a main road at all; it was just a desolate wilderness.
The guy called Leopard said that Gu Juncheng was causing him trouble, which means that these people must have done something illegal or criminal and are now trying to escape, but they can't get out. Are they going to take her as a hostage?
While I was pondering, the car sped away.
Lin Qingping didn't know how long she had been driving when a checkpoint appeared ahead.
It is a checkpoint for entering and leaving the capital.
Lin Qingping's eyes narrowed.
The two men sitting next to her tensed up and simultaneously pressed her down, burying her face in one of the men's knees, pressing her back down hard, and covering her with a smelly coat.
"Please show your identification," said the staff member checking the vehicle through the window.
Lin Qingping then heard the rustling sound of someone taking something out of their pocket, and Wen Xiao's voice, that of a Hong Kong man, speaking in a thick Mandarin, "My wife is carsick and not feeling well."
Then she heard a staff member say, "It's all set, have a safe journey."
The staff only glanced at it through the window and did not ask to open the back door.
Lin Qingping was desperate. She tried to get up so that the staff could see that her mouth was gagged and that she was bound with ropes, but she failed again.
She couldn't move; the two men's arms were pressing her down hard.
The car finally started moving again, which meant they had left the capital...
Lin Qingping was unwilling to give up, but even though they took turns driving, there were always two men sitting on either side of her, not giving her any chance to slip away.
She had asked to use the restroom, a common trope in later TV dramas where the female lead tries to escape, but she really had no other choice; it was her only opportunity and excuse.
Of course, they allowed her to use the toilet, but they didn't allow her any chance to escape.
So, they didn't untie the ropes on her hands and feet at all.
"How can I get up?" she mumbled, her mouth stuffed with sobs.
"Whatever." Anyway, those guys won't untie her ropes.
It wasn't like the script I had in mind...
Lin Qingping clenched one fist, concealing the sharp piece of wood inside, and opened the other hand, placing it on top of the fist. She stretched it out and mumbled indistinctly, "Paper."
"You're quite particular, can you even wipe it properly?" the man said sarcastically, but still handed her a piece of paper and put it in her outstretched palm.
Lin Qingping ignored him.
The man then burst into a malicious laugh.
"Don't cause trouble." Clearly, this guy called Brother Leopard wasn't interested in this kind of thing.
The man carried her to the roadside weeds, and instead of turning around like in a TV drama, he kept staring at her from a distance, within their line of sight.
She faced them, her hands behind her back, pretending to pull down her pants, and squatted down.
Behind him, out of their sight, a sharp piece of wood pierced his finger with force, and a sticky liquid flowed out—blood…
She held a piece of paper in one hand, her bleeding fingers writing words on it.
After writing, he let go, and the paper fell onto the wasteland.
She noticed a small stone nearby, and without making a sound, she slowly moved it, kicking it onto the paper and pressing it down.
Then, squat down and pretend to pull your pants up from behind.
I didn't actually go to the toilet, but I still had to put on a show, hoping someone would see this distress signal.
She remained half-squatting, pretending to pull up her pants as she hopped forward little by little.
The two men waiting for her in the jeep watched her jump.
Until the man called Leopard shouted angrily, "Stop looking, hurry up and bring the person up and into the car."
