Chapter 771: Chapter 771 - A Spear Duel Worth Watching

Maybe this was the first time Leon actually wanted to fall asleep quickly at night-

But no matter what, he just couldn't.

Even when the clock hit 1 AM, his eyes were still wide open. He had tried shutting off his thoughts, pushing away everything occupying his mind-but they just wouldn't go away.

Had he drunk too much coffee today?

Eventually, at some unknown hour, he finally dozed off.

But when morning came, he woke up feeling restless. His body craved movement. Craved the feeling of pushing himself to exhaustion.

He still had a few hours before his first match in the Duel of Champions.

And... yes. Last night, he had promised to go to the gym with Olivia.

So, without wasting time, he got ready, left his room, and headed to the hotel gym.

Even as he walked, he let out a slow breath, his thoughts drifting back to the night before.

Olivia. Laura.

Should he spend more energy thinking about this?

Laura had been brave in her confession-that much was certain. But in the end... Leon still didn't know what he should do. Or rather-he knew what he wanted to do. He just didn't know if it was the right decision to take.

Yeah... romance wasn't his focus right now. Did that mean he wasn't interested in women at all?

Leon frowned slightly.

No... that wasn't it.

If he were to judge a woman purely by appearance, then sure, he would probably choose whoever he found the most attractive. But the truth was... his heart just hadn't moved yet. But one thing was certain-

He needed to talk to Laura again. He definitely had to.

Just as Leon was walking toward the gym door, someone called out to him from behind. He turned around and saw Olivia, her black hair tied neatly back, dressed in a fitted gym outfit that hugged her frame. She waved at him.

"Leon...," she said, her bright smile as cheerful as ever.

Leon watched as Olivia approached. For some reason, he felt like laughing—and then he actually did, letting out a small chuckle just as she reached him, grabbed his arm, and pulled him into a casual side hug.

"How did you sleep last night?" she asked.

This might have been Leon's first smile of the morning-or maybe even the first time in days that smiling felt this effortless.

Ironically, Olivia was part of the reason he had struggled to fall asleep the night before. But now, here she was, looking completely carefree, as if she had already forgotten everything that had happened—or at least, everything she had done.

"Great. I had plenty of time to think, thanks to you," he replied, his tone laced with playful

sarcasm.

"Really? Then you owe me a meal for that," she said with a giggle.

Leon didn't reply and simply let the conversation drop as they moved on with their routine. As always, Olivia-who was incredibly good at running-challenged him once again to a

"I've been trying to smile more lightly today."

"That's because you're talking to me."

"So arrogant!" Leon shot back.

After finishing his gym session for the day, Leon quickly got himself ready. About two hours later, he stepped onto the stage, the roar of the crowd echoing through the arena. His opponent for the match was also approaching from the opposite side, walking toward him

with steady steps.

Between them, the event's host stood, his energy electrifying the atmosphere.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are about to witness the highly anticipated first match of the

day!" he announced with enthusiasm.

He then turned to Leon's opponent, holding out the microphone. "Are you ready? Do you have anything to say before the match begins?"

The man smirked slightly before speaking. "Broken! Fight with your spear! Let's put on a

show-let's give these people a spear battle worth watching!"

A deafening cheer erupted from all corners of the arena.

The host then shifted his mic toward Broken.

"Spear? Fine," Broken replied coolly.

With that, both fighters stepped into their capsule devices, the crowd still buzzing with

excitement, their cheers filling the air.

Not long after, Broken and his opponent appeared on the massive screen, both standing within the spacious square arena. The battlefield was large enough to allow them to fight freely and unleash wide-area skills without constraint.

In reality, though, this was a fight to the death. The size of the arena hardly mattered-once one of them was eliminated, the winner would be decided instantly.

The deafening cheers of the audience filled the stadium. Despite it being the earliest match of the day-still just 9 AM-the enthusiasm of the crowd remained unshaken. Many were especially eager to support Vensalor Guild, and even more were here to see Broken, whose reputation had skyrocketed after his standout performance in the Raid Race.

A countdown appeared above the arena, starting from 5. Both fighters immediately drew their weapons-spears-preparing to clash the moment the battle began.

Broken gripped his Mythic-grade Abyssal Wavebreaker spear tightly, his gaze locked onto his opponent as the countdown ticked closer to zero.

Across from him, his opponent spun their spear fluidly, shifting into an aggressive stance.

The moment the countdown hit zero, they shot forward-blindingly fast. This wasn't the

speed of a typical strength-based fighter.

Broken exhaled calmly, unfazed, before immediately casting a skill from his spear.
