Chapter 689: Chapter 689 - Crafting Hope in Chaos

A few minutes earlier.@@@@

"What the hell is that?!" RememberMe exclaimed, his eyes wide in shock as he shook his head in disbelief at the massive magic circle looming over the distant capital city of the Dissidia Kingdom.

RememberMe, Broken, and the others stood atop the speeding crawling carriage as it

rumbled down a road that had grown smoother and more structured, flanked by vast savannahs on either side. They were closing in on their destination-the heart of a colossal battle they had been racing toward all this time.

Freya began to explain the situation. "Here's the progress so far. Demian, the king's younger brother, seems to have had some major disagreement or outright falling out-with the Shadow Wolves. And the latest update... King Alorik is dead," she said grimly.

"Damn it! Demian!" RememberMe spat. "I've wanted to kill that man for so long. Just the sight of his face makes my blood boil."

Broken muttered under his breath, "Alora is trapped in SpeedGang's domain."

Freya nodded. "And the fact that SpeedGang is holding his domain even while Demian attempts to destroy it is proof enough of a rift-or outright betrayal-between them and Demian."

"The immediate issue we need to deal with," Pussycat interjected, "is how to stop that massive meteor from crashing into the city." She shook her head.

"No way! Is this really the end of everything?" RememberMe turned to Broken.

Broken's mind raced as he considered every possible option to prevent the meteor from hitting the ground.

But how could they even begin?

"Destroying the meteor with a collective attack from the ground?" Broken muttered. "Or moving it somewhere else?"

He shook his head. "Neither seems remotely plausible."

"I'm intrigued by the idea of destroying the meteor together from below," Frostedge said suddenly, breaking the tense silence.

Everyone turned to look at him.

"Is that even possible?" RememberMe asked.

"If we can hold the meteor in place for even a few minutes, maybe we could destroy it with concentrated attacks from below. However..." Frostedge hesitated, then sighed. "Even that might be impossible. The meteor is on the verge of breaking free from the portal, and once it does, the destruction will be catastrophic."

The Beebot carriage raced forward, using speed boosts intermittently to close the distance to the battlefield. But even with their accelerated pace, the group still had no clear plan for what they would do once they arrived.

"At the very least, I have to save Ivana and Princess Alora," Broken said.

Freya nodded in agreement.

Frostedge turned to Broken. "I can help evacuate Ivana if you don't mind. That way, you can focus on rescuing the princess."

Broken nodded slowly, the pieces of a concept beginning to come together in his mind.

Forev then spoke up. "Make it a single-use item. That way, its effect can be pushed to an extraordinary level."

The group turned to Forev, realizing the brilliance of his suggestion. A one-time-use item would indeed justify a much greater, almost overwhelming, effect.

Broken spoke as he sketched a simple design on the screen with his finger. "I'll create an item of the Device type, so its purpose will focus entirely on the function we assign to it."

He drew the outline of a small, handheld shield. Then, he began typing in the item details:

[Item Function: Creates a massive dome or protective domain to shield a wide area from catastrophic threats. The dome can withstand and neutralize the destructive force of the threat. This is a one-time-use Device item.

Enables collaborative effort from anyone nearby or within the dome, allowing them to contribute resources such as Mana, Health, or Stamina to reinforce its effect. Requires a

Master Blacksmith to craft.]

[Requirements: Titanium, Moonstones, and as many Soulstones as possible to enhance

efficiency.]

The group leaned in closer, carefully reviewing the blueprint together. They scrutinized every detail, their minds working hard to ensure the design was as effective as possible.

"Is there anything we can improve?" Broken asked, his eyes scanning the screen.

The room fell silent as they all pondered, searching for ways to refine the concept and maximize the item's potential.

Everyone mulled over their own thoughts for a moment before sharing their ideas one by one.

"How about a secondary fail-safe?" RememberMe suggested. "If the dome fails, it could release a shockwave to disperse the threat or at least buy time for evacuation."

The group considered the idea but quickly realized that overloading the item with too many features could compromise its overall effectiveness.

Finally, Broken took a deep breath, confident that the design was as balanced as it could be. He tapped the confirmation button to finalize the blueprint.

[Is the blueprint information finalized?]

[The blueprint will now be processed.]

[Producing the most suitable blueprint based on the provided information.]

[Success! You have received a new blueprint: Astral Aegis of Unity Blueprint.]

The name flashed on the screen. They had taken the first step toward solving the seemingly

impossible challenge before them.

"Now, let's see if we got what we were hoping for," Broken said.
