Chapter 564: Chapter 564 - A Fateful Encounter with Morel
It was Fang-the Eternal Flame Fang! And even worse, its level had surged to an astonishing 245!
"Last time I encountered him, he wasn't nearly this high in level," Broken muttered.
As soon as Princess Alora spotted Fang in the distance, her expression shifted drastically. Broken said to Alora. "Do you think Lionell can take him down?"
"I think he's our only hope right now," Alora replied with resolve.
Broken nodded, feeling a surge of gratitude for Alora's assistance here. Without her and her knights, fending off this relentless wave of monsters would've been nearly impossible.
Lionell seemed to understand his task instantly. He dashed forward, intercepting the massive wolf and launching into a brutal clash, Lionell was drawing away from the main group in their fierce struggle.
Broken swallowed hard, watching as Lionell managed to hold his ground against the wolf- even with Fang's insane level increase.
"Broken, I don't think we can stay here much longer!" Elincia shouted from above, her voice strained as she continued casting spells to fend off the attacking monsters.
Broken took a quick, careful assessment of their situation and knew what had to be done.
"We have no idea how many more waves of monsters are coming or how long this will last. We can't afford to stand here and wait to defeat them all. We need to take action."
He turned to Alora, his gaze serious. "Alora?"
Alora was momentarily surprised that he'd addressed her without her title, but a smile touched her lips as she continued cutting through the monsters with agility and precision.
"Yes, tell me what you think," she responded.
"We need to split the team," Broken said firmly. "Some will stay and hold off the monsters, while the rest press on. We should prioritize those with strong mobility to ensure we keep moving forward."
"Please make the call, Broken," Alora replied, nodding.
"You and I will ride Polly," he continued. "Melliandra and Ivana can go with Kingsley, and Elincia will follow from the air. We'll divide into two teams: the main team will push toward our destination, while the others stay behind to hold the line."
This action was necessary; if they stayed here much longer, their chance to confront Elaine and eliminate her while she was in her Eternal Flame Form could slip away.
They were caught in an endless monster assault, and if they didn't push forward, the situation for the others would grow increasingly dire. It was beginning to look like the battle could drag on until morning, just like the exhausting battle they'd faced before.
"It seems only Morel could manage something of this scale," he added thoughtfully.
"Is it possible Elaine was hiding something?" Alora asked.
"No, I don't believe Elaine was lying," he replied.
"Then what do you think is going on?" Alora inquired.
"I'm certain there's another reason for the relentless appearance of these monsters."
"How is Morel doing this? Where are all these monsters coming from?" Broken muttered, still deep in thought.
He kept a watchful eye on Kingsley below, simultaneously fending off nearby monsters with his Moonvine Knuckles and summoning wild vines to block any creatures trying to close in. Elincia provided aerial support, ensuring Kingsley could continue running without any
interference.
They pressed on, pushing past the relentless barrier of monsters until they finally broke through. Polly descended to the ground, running alongside Kingsley, both deftly dodging
trees despite the dimming light.
Surprisingly, Tora kept pace with them, sprinting alongside.
Damn, what kind of Archer class does he have? Did he deliberately build up his speed and mobility just
for situations like this?
"We're approaching the entrance to the Moonlight Fae territory," Broken called, his voice
nearly lost in the wind as they sped forward.
"Someone's coming!" Kingsley shouted abruptly.
Without a second's notice, Polly and Kingsley dove to the side, and Broken instinctively tightened his grip as Alora, holding onto him from behind, nearly lost her balance. Just then, something plummeted from the sky and struck the ground with a heavy impact, missing them
by inches.
A dark, armored figure rose from the crater left by its fall, embers flickering off the fiery armor. The figure towered over them, standing almost as tall as Kingsley in his full bear form.
