Chapter 77 Red Team Arrives, Bonnie is About to Summon
Deep in the rainforest, an unnamed village.
Several days later, the small village that Ace and Karna had rescued became their temporary haven.
Ace's physical injuries healed quickly under the nourishment of Karna's solar energy, but his mental fatigue and confusion did not completely disappear; they were only temporarily suppressed.
The villagers' simple gratitude and dependence became Ace's best healing medicine.
He is no longer the "evil bloodline" hunted by the world, nor is he a son who needs to be protected.
Here, he is a strong, reliable "Brother Ace" who helps the old lady chop wood, plays with the children, and helps the men clear the vines outside the village.
"Brother Ace! Look! I caught another big fish!"
A little boy, tanned dark by the sun, ran over excitedly, holding a fish he had caught in the murky stream.
"Wow! That's amazing! But this fish looks a bit fierce. Tell Grandma Martha to be careful when she makes soup for us tonight."
Ace smiled and ruffled the boy's hair, then casually took the struggling, strange fish.
A small flame flickered on his fingertips, precisely burning away the fish's most dangerous bony spines with practiced ease.
"Brother Ace's flames are so convenient!" The children surrounded him, their eyes sparkling.
Not far away, Karna sat quietly on a large rock, like a guardian deity of the village.
He didn't need to say a word; his quiet yet powerful presence was enough to keep some weak mutated creatures from approaching the village.
Occasionally, villagers would get scratched by poisonous thorns while clearing the outer vines, and Karna would quietly use a wisp of the sun god's light, which contained the power of purification, to remove the poison and heal their wounds, with immediate results.
Although the villagers did not know exactly who this silent, golden-armored warrior was, they all regarded him as a god who protected the village, and were filled with awe and gratitude towards him.
"Thanks, little sun!" Ace waved to Karna after finishing with the fish.
Karna nodded slightly, a hint of gentleness in his golden eyes.
As the sun set, Ace sat at the village entrance, watching wisps of smoke rise from the chimneys.
The laughter of children and the chatter of villagers allowed him to relax his tense nerves for a rare moment.
The satisfaction of helping others is real, and so is the peace of mind.
Although questions about "existence" still lingered in his mind, here he at least clearly felt his value as someone who was "needed".
He was waiting for Luffy, and also gathering his strength to prepare for the inevitable storm.
The villagers' unreserved trust and reliance acted like an invisible bond, making him feel a sense of responsibility for this temporary place of refuge.
Here, he seemed to slowly come to understand. Existence doesn't necessarily have to be about proving something; it can also be about protecting something.
Little Sun saw Ace's silence in the sunset and, sensing the villagers' increasingly joyful atmosphere, he nodded gently.
High in the sky, the dark sun boat (Mesektet).
The enormous golden solar ship, like a second sun, pierced through the clouds and is now directly above Alabasta.
The ship exuded an ancient and majestic aura, and its sacred radiance dispelled the eerie, sweet scent that permeated the rainforest below.
On the deck, Luffy excitedly clung to the ship's railing and looked down.
"Wow! What a huge forest! It's completely different from before! Is Ace down there? And there's delicious meat?"
He completely ignored the dramatic changes in the environment and the potential crisis.
Sabo gripped the railing, his brow furrowed. He knew better than Luffy what was happening below.
"The transformation of deserts into rainforests...this kind of earth-shaking power is truly terrifying."
Beside him, Napoleon held a map, his face serious.
"Master, if this area was originally a desert, then the ecosystem would be in extreme disarray, and the people there would probably be living in dire straits long ago."
Princess Vivi stood at the bow of the ship, dressed in traditional Alabasta attire, her eyes filled with solemn worry as she gazed down at her homeland, now unfamiliar to her.
Behind her, Ramses II looked down at the rainforest below, a smug smile playing on his lips.
"Hmph, turning the desert into a useless rainforest? That's nothing but a clumsy imitation!"
Ramses II's voice was full of confidence and disdain.
"The true miracle lies in the land illuminated by my radiant solar ship! However..."
He changed the subject, looking at Vivi. "Master, the power entrenched in this land certainly warrants my attention. The head of that being who dared to distort the landscape of my Master's nation—I have taken it!"
"Your Majesty... and everyone else." Weiwei felt slightly relieved, but her worries had not disappeared.
"Please be extremely careful. The Sand Crocodile's plot, and that mysterious Heroic Spirit..."
"No need to worry," Ramses II said proudly.
"Under my radiant light, all conspiracies and schemes will have nowhere to hide!"
However, a hint of solemnity also flashed deep in his eyes. As the Pharaoh and the sun, he sensed the chaos and power contained within the force below more than anyone else; it was no ordinary heroic spirit.
Speaking of the sun, that woman from the Drum Kingdom not long ago is also someone I should take seriously...
Sabo clearly noticed the unusual expression on the king's face. Ever since he met the woman who called herself Garp, the powerful Sun King had often worn this expression.
"The Heroic Spirit summoned by Black Smoker... is ridiculously strong," Sabo said in a deep voice.
"This ocean has become more dangerous than we imagined because of this Holy Grail War."
"Who cares!" Luffy adjusted his straw hat and flashed his signature smile.
"Vivi's country is waiting for us to save it! Let's just blow all the troublemakers away!"
The Dark Sunship accelerated, carrying the Red Team like a falling golden meteor, resolutely plunging into the rainforest of Alabasta, shrouded in countless conspiracies.
Arjuna, who was leading the navy in the search for his brother, raised his head slightly, a look of seriousness appearing on his face.
Meanwhile, on the edge of the Grand Line, there was a dangerous sea area known as the "Ship-Eating Reef".
There is another member from the Red Team here.
A pirate ship is sailing on the somewhat eerie calm sea.
The atmosphere on deck was oppressive, and the crew members all looked tense, constantly scanning the thick sea fog around them.
Inside the cabin, Joelle Bonney irritably pushed a stack of empty plates aside, her brow furrowed.
"Something's not right! Something's really not right!" Bonnie slammed her hand on the table.
"That news about the Holy Grail War has been leaked by the Arbitration for ages. Where are those greedy, hyena-like pirates? Where are the madmen of the New World? Where is the Navy? Why hasn't a single decent one shown up?!"
She stood up and paced around the cramped cabin.
"We didn't even run into a petty thief! When did the Grand Line become so safe?!"
"Captain Bonney... is... is a bit strange. Logically speaking, if this kind of news got out, we should have been surrounded and chased by all sorts of monsters and demons long ago."
"But... the sea lanes have been eerily quiet these past few days, not even a shadow of the pirate ships we usually see."
Just then, the ship suddenly shook violently!
It wasn't a collision, but rather as if it were pushed away by an invisible force, narrowly avoiding a huge, sharp reef in the darkness ahead!
"What's going on?!" Bonnie rushed out of the cabin and onto the deck.
"Captain! Just now... just now it felt like a gust of wind pushed the ship away! Otherwise, we would have crashed!"
The helmsman, still shaken, pointed to the menacing reef.
Thick fog blanketed the area, reducing visibility to extremely low levels.
Bonnie leaned on the fence, looking out at the smoke-filled world around him. He should have felt the joy of surviving a disaster, but why did his heart ache so much?
He gripped the red-glowing command spell on his right hand and held it tightly to his chest.
Even though I was forced to sneak in, please bless me so I can find my father!
In the distance, on a small boat shrouded in thick fog.
A figure as large as a mountain stood on the sea, his raft tattered and the seawater reaching above his calves.
It was still faintly visible that the robe was originally a religious garment, and the exposed mechanical joints and the flesh-and-blood body were covered with shocking scars.
Huge claw marks, charred black marks, deep knife wounds that exposed bone, and holes that were pierced through.
Some wounds were still slowly oozing engine oil and dark red liquid.
He lowered his head, seemingly unconscious, but his once docile bear eyes were now only two points of red light, like candles flickering in the wind.
That was none other than Bartholomew Kuma, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea!
He stood silently in this dangerous sea like a scarred guardian statue.
In the seawater beneath his feet, the twisted wreckage was faintly visible—fragments of a destroyed pirate ship.
Further away, several shipwrecks appeared to be slowly sinking, with broken planks floating on the sea.
