Just when they were in despair, a figure appeared out of nowhere.
He was carrying the Orb of the Universe in one hand and the unconscious Gamora in the other, like he was carrying a chick.
"Yours?" He threw Gamora to the ground and then tossed the Orb to Quill.
Quill instinctively caught it, feeling the metal ball in his hand was incredibly heavy.
"She...she's still alive?" He stared at Gamora on the ground, unable to believe his eyes.
"I won't die," Chu Hang said.
He had no interest in watching this group stage a dramatic reunion after their ordeal. His attention was entirely focused on his own thoughts.
The moment he received the Spirit Orb, he chose to copy it, and a surge of purple, violent information flooded into his mind.
The Law of Force.
This is not simply an increase in strength, but a conceptual understanding.
Gravity, repulsion, strong interaction, weak interaction... the four fundamental forces that sustain the existence and movement of all things in the universe were no longer abstract formulas in his mind, but rather tangible and usable tools.
He instantly understood the essence of these things.
The Power Gem is the embodiment of these physical laws.
Mastering it is equivalent to mastering the rules of physics itself.
"So that's how it is..." Chu Hang closed his eyes, savoring the feeling.
Previously, he used his fists to strike people, relying on kinetic energy. Now, he can directly command the particles within the opponent's body to stop interacting, causing the body to disintegrate from the inside out.
Previously, he needed to push a rock to move it. Now, he can change the gravitational constant between the rock and the planet, making it float on its own.
This is the kind of method a god should use.
He opened his eyes and saw Quill, Rocket, and Groot frantically trying to give Gamora first aid. Drax had also been dragged from the rubble; he had a broken arm but was still alive.
"Alright, everyone," Chu Hang said, interrupting their flurry of activity, "Let's talk about compensation."
Quill paused for a moment, then stood up: "What do you want? We don't have any money, it was all blown up."
“I saved all your lives and got this hot potato back.” Chu Hang pointed to the orb in Quill’s hand. “I’m not short of money. I need you to do something for me.”
"What is it?" Gamora woke up as well, leaning against the container and asking weakly.
Chu Hang's gaze fell on Quill, and he smiled somewhat strangely.
“Once you’re done with your work and have dealt with this stone, you, Peter Quill, will come back to Earth with me.”
"Go back to Earth?" Quill looked bewildered. "Why? I haven't wanted to go back for a long time."
"Go see your grandfather."
“My grandfather?” Quill was even more confused. “My grandfather died a long time ago!”
“That’s not what I was talking about,” Chu Hang shook his head. He remembered Steve’s tour across the country during World War II, always surrounded by a group of scantily clad cheerleaders. One of them looked exactly like a picture of Quill’s mother.
If Steve, that old relic, knew he had a grandson who was a thief in space, his expression would be priceless.
“One of your seniors, also a veteran,” Chu Hang said without explicitly stating, “He misses his family very much. I’ll take you to see him and fulfill his wish.”
Quill looked at him with a mixture of disbelief and skepticism, sensing something sinister about the matter.
"It's that simple?"
“It’s that simple.” Chu Hang nodded. “I won’t interfere with you until then. I also want to explore the universe.”
He certainly wasn't looking for scenery. He had just obtained the Law of Force and gained new insights into the Law of Space. In the universe, far from the constraints of planetary gravity, it would be more conducive for him to practice these god-like abilities.
Quill and Gamora exchanged a glance. The deal was strange, but they had no choice. This man could scare Ronan away with a single sentence and pull people back from space; no one could stop him from doing whatever he wanted.
“Okay.” Quill finally nodded. “Deal. I’ll go with you once we’ve taken care of this.”
Chapter 116 The Death of Ronan
No one spoke in the Milan's lounge.
On the table sat the Cosmic Orb, its purple light emanating from the gaps in its metal casing; it didn't look like anything good.
“We have to hand it over to the Nova Corps,” Quill said first. “This thing is too dangerous; only they can keep it safe.”
Gamora nodded: "Ronan is just the beginning; many more will come to take him. The Nova Corps are the enforcers of the galaxy; they have a responsibility to deal with this."
"Huh! The Nova Corps?" Rocket screamed. "They can't even capture a few of us, and they think they can keep the Infinity Stones? Quill, are you out of your mind? We should find a black market and sell them, then run away!"
"I'm Groot."
“That’s right, Groot thinks so too!”
Chu Hang leaned against the wall, watching the group of people argue.
“The Nova Corps won’t do.” As soon as he spoke, everyone fell silent.
"Why?" Quill asked.
“Because the person behind Ronan is called Thanos.” Chu Hang’s gaze swept over everyone. “A madman who wants to collect all six stones and wipe out half of all living things in the universe. Do you think the Nova Corps can stop him?”
Gamora's face paled. As Thanos's adopted daughter, she knew better than anyone the weight of that name.
“He’s right.” Her voice was dry. “If Father comes in person, the Nova Corps… won’t last a day.”
"What should we do?" Quill asked, frustrated. "We can't just carry it with us all the time! It's a ticking time bomb!"
He still didn't believe it and stubbornly shook his head: "The Nova Corps has guarded the galaxy for thousands of years, they're not that weak. I'm going to Xandar and let them assess it themselves."
Chu Hang was getting impatient. Reasoning with these people was too much of a hassle.
"Okay, if you want to go, I'll take you."
He snapped his fingers as soon as he finished speaking.
The surrounding scenery instantly distorted, and the spaceship's metal walls became flowing light and shadow. A feeling of weightlessness washed over them, and everyone swayed from side to side.
The next second, the light and shadow froze.
They were no longer on the spaceship, but standing in the center of a vast white hall. At the far end of the hall, Nova Supreme Irani Rael was startled to her feet from her throne, and the Nova officers around her all drew their weapons.
The Milan, along with everyone on board, was directly teleported by Chu Hang to the Nova Legion's command center.
“You…” Quill opened his mouth wide, unable to speak.
“Now you can ask,” Chu Hang said to Quill, ignoring the tense atmosphere around him.
Iranie Rael recognized Chu Hang. She waved for her men to put down their weapons and walked down the steps with a serious expression.
"Sir, what are you doing..."
“He wanted you to keep this.” Chu Hang tossed the Cosmic Orb to Ilani. “But I said you couldn’t. To prove it, I’ll show you its power.”
After saying that, he gently tapped the spirit orb.
The outer shell of the sphere opened, and the purple power gem shone brightly. A pure, destructive energy wave swept across the entire planet Xandar in an instant, spreading into the depths of space.
In some corner of the universe, the shadow on the throne stirred.
He felt that familiar power.
“Power…” he murmured, a slight smile playing on his lips.
He saw Xandar, he saw Chu Hang, and he also saw Ronan, who had just escaped.
He extended a finger, and a deep purple black light traversed endless space, instantly pouring into Ronan's flagship.
Ronan, who was raging on the bridge, was struck by this energy. He roared, his body enveloped in dark energy, his muscles bulging and veins popping. His power was increasing wildly.
“My master…” Ronan knelt on the ground, feeling the unprecedented power within him, his face filled with fervor, “Thank you for your grace!”
"Go, take back what belongs to me, and destroy that planet." A cold voice echoed in his mind.
The Dark Star turned around, tore through space, and once again jumped towards Xandar.
At the command center on Xandar, alarms blared across the sky.
"Large-scale fleet jump detected! It's Ronan!"
Outside the window, the Dark Star, with an even larger fleet than before, blotted out the sky.
"All Nova fighters, deploy! Activate the planetary defense matrix!" Irani Rael decisively ordered.
Tens of thousands of golden, star-shaped fighters swarmed into the sky like bees, engaging the Kree fleet. Energy beams and explosions stained the sky red.
But the battle was completely one-sided.
The Nova fighters' shields were as fragile as paper under the Kree fire. One after another, the fighters exploded in mid-air, turning into smoke and fire.
“His power… has increased more than tenfold!” Irani looked at the battle report, her face pale.
"Do you believe me now?" Chu Hang asked calmly.
Quill and Gamora stared speechlessly at the apocalyptic scene outside the window.
Just then, the Dark Star's main cannon began charging. A dark purple beam, several times thicker than before, shot straight toward the command center on the ground.
The Nova Corps fighters formed a human wall, attempting to block the beam with their bodies, but they were instantly vaporized in the face of the beam.
Chu Hang sighed.
He took a step and appeared above the command center.
Faced with that energy beam powerful enough to destroy a city, he simply stretched out one hand.
The moment it touched his palm, it vanished into thin air as if it had never existed.
The Law of Force: Zeroing Out
All the energy and particles that make it up, and the interaction forces between them, are forcibly severed, returning it to the most primitive nothingness.
On the Dark Star, Ronan saw this scene and his pupils shrank to pinpoints.
Chu Hang raised his head, his gaze piercing through tens of thousands of meters to meet Ronan's eyes.
"I gave you a chance, but you didn't live up to it."
He slowly clenched his fist, facing the direction of the Dark Star.
On the bridge of the Dark Star, tens of thousands of meters above the ground, Ronan suddenly felt a pang of fear. He realized he couldn't move.
