Chapter 107 He is indeed alive
Chapter 107 He is indeed alive
Sirius reached out and touched Regulus's face, his hand trembling slightly.
"The young master is back, Kreacher's young master is back! Kreacher is useless... he couldn't carry out the young master's orders..."
"Let's leave here first."
"?"
"Stop crying, take us back." Dumbledore gave up trying to communicate; he couldn't reason with these two who were crying their eyes out. It would be faster to give Kreacher the order.
"Smack."
After a moment of dizziness, the three people, a cat, a corpse, and a little elf returned to Black's old house.
Emeric jumped down from Severus's arms and silently crouched in a corner, his back to everyone.
"yue... ugh... crunch crunch..."
It's too uncomfortable. He'll never be able to transform back into a human when Apparating again, so he might as well not take advantage of it. He's too dizzy, and Emeric threw up again.
"Ellie... what's wrong?" Dumbledore crouched down and poked the cat's rear with his wand, then turned to look at the cat's owner, Severus.
"He only got what he deserved." Severus didn't want to say anything more, so he grabbed the cat by the neck and poured a bottle of potion down its throat. The effect was excellent; the cat stopped vomiting instantly.
Emeric finally had the energy to dart his eyes around. Looking down, he saw that Regulus was almost covered with soil. In a panic, he immediately got off Severus's arms and used both hands and feet to push the man squatting beside the pit.
"You guys are really quick! The person isn't dead yet!! If you two had covered him up, he might really be dead!!!"
"What did you say? Regulus isn't dead! Say it again!!!" Sirius wiped away his tears and grabbed Emeric's shoulder, unable to believe his ears.
"Stop shaking me, or I'll throw up again, and I won't care who I throw up on." Emeric struggled to push Sirius away, suppressing his nausea, and continued, "He's protected by something, he's in a state similar to the living dead. To save him, we need to find out what it is first."
Dumbledore became interested and went to the other side of the pit, where he squatted down and poked Regulus with his wand, trying to find what Emeric had mentioned.
"Don't touch the young master, Kreacher... protect young master Regulus..." Kreacher screamed and threw himself into the pit, using his body to block Dumbledore's wand that was poking around wildly.
Severus leaned against the wall expressionlessly. He didn't want to get involved in this farce, especially after seeing the mud all over the place.
The scene was chaotic. Sirius continued to shake Emeric, asking him to promise that he could revive Regulus, while Dumbledore tried to get around Kreacher and poke Regulus.
"Have you two had enough?" Severus ended the scene with a single sentence, and Emeric transformed into a cat, escaping Sirius Black and returning to his beloved's arms.
"Old bee, do you think I didn't talk about you? Come here too. Is it something to be proud of to raise Pokémon? At your age, bullying Pokémon, where did your age go?"
Severus was pleased that Emeric was so sensible, and rubbed the cat's head in revenge, giving the two of them, who were standing there dumbfounded, a look of disdain.
"I hope you two still have brains. Why don't you take him back and clean him up? Are you planning to wait for Regulus to wake up and clean him up yourself? I really don't know how you're so smart."
Emeric nestled in Severus's arms, watching the three being scolded with a mocking expression. He knew that if he scolded them, he couldn't scold him.
They then came to their senses, pulled Regulus out of the pit, and took him to the bedroom to bathe and change. Dumbledore hid nearby, his hands clasped; he couldn't attract any more attention, lest Emeric remember to complain.
Severus sat on the only clean sofa, holding the cat. He had recently been spoiled by Emeric and had become a bit of a germaphobe, not wanting to touch anything even slightly dirty.
Looking at Emeric's two little horns, he suddenly had an idea: he could put the book in the middle and it would fit perfectly, thus creating a bookshelf.
After he finished reading a chapter, the upstairs area had also finished washing up. Sirius stood at the top of the stairs and called them up. He and Kreacher searched Regulus thoroughly, but still couldn't find what Emeric had mentioned.
"Kreacher and I can't find what you're talking about. Are you lying to me?" Sirius lifted Emeric from Severus's arms and grabbed him by the neck, asking.
Severus was stunned for once. He hadn't had anything stolen from him in a long time, and he didn't even realize that his cat was gone. The next moment, his face darkened, and he raised his wand at Sirius. Since someone was tired of living, he would lend a hand.
"Sirius, calm down. Put Emeric back. He wouldn't lie to you about something like this. Severus, calm down too. Be considerate of his feelings. Everyone, don't fight!" Seeing that things were getting out of hand, Dumbledore squeezed between the two, grabbing Emeric with one hand and pressing down on Severus's wand with the other.
"I'll believe you this time, for the sake of the principal."
"You stole my cat and you're still acting so self-righteous? You think whoever's being aggressive is right? Ellie, let's go, let them figure it out themselves."
"Hey, hey, hey, Severus, don't go. Sirius didn't mean it that way. He just can't control his emotions when he's feeling sad or happy. Don't take it to heart. And you, Allie, you said you're not dead, so hurry up and prove it."
Dumbledore was busy appeasing both sides when he realized Sirius was about to say something. Enraged, he simply gagged Sirius, telling him not to speak if he couldn't. If he angered Severus and drove him away, Americu would surely leave too, and then Regulus would truly be stuck in this situation.
"I'll look for it first. I'll have to ask around when I get home to find out the details. Right now, all I can say is that he's not dead." Emeric didn't say anything definitive. Although there was a familiar smell, he couldn't remember who it was for the moment.
The magic circled around Regulus and finally settled near his heart. He aimed more magic at his heart, but a burst of magic repelled him.
"This is... I think I know." Emeric suddenly remembered the elder who had been sleeping in the ancestral land during last year's sacrificial ceremony. Logically, these two shouldn't know each other, right? But the magic emanating from him was that elder's. He'll ask him when he gets home.
"Kreacher, did your master have any particularly close relationships with anyone back then? Maybe an elder in my family, think about it."
"Kreacher...Kreacher can't say, Kreacher promised the young master he wouldn't say, Kreacher can't tell you."
"That's a bit tricky. Here's what we'll do: you take care of him normally for now, let him get some sun regularly, and he'll definitely be alive. As for how to wake him up, I'll have to ask him. Of course, I can't reveal the specific method; it's a family secret."
Emerick genuinely didn't know how to wake them; both of them were in a state of suspended animation. Everything would become clear once he finished gossiping.
