Chapter 80 Hehe, Wizard Hunter
The dragons are very obedient, so the people in the reserve now only have one job: keep a close eye on Owen and make sure he doesn't take the dragons out for a whole day. Owen examines the dragons; these big guys are all aggressive, so they all have injuries of various sizes, and some even have hidden injuries. All of these need treatment. Of course, taking some flesh and blood during the treatment is normal practice.
Although the dragons suffered for a while, they felt much better after being healed. For example, the king of the dragons in the dragon reserve had been coughing, which did not affect his strength, but it was indeed uncomfortable. However, after being treated by Owen, he found that he felt much better.
This most temperamental Iron Belly was incredibly affectionate towards Irving, even wanting to give him his collection. However, Irving refused, saying he would bring them gifts next time he came.
The dragons were deeply moved, and even though Owen was in excruciating pain while treating them, they gritted their teeth and endured it.
That evening, Owen took the pile of herbs and began to concoct various fire dragon potions, with dragon blood as the main ingredient, combined with different parts of flesh and blood.
Using the wing roots, one can grow fire dragon wings;
Using the tail, one can grow a fire dragon's tail;
Using leg meat will make people grow fire dragon legs or fire dragon arms;
Owen had considered turning a person into a complete fire dragon, but the effect of adding flesh and blood from all parts of the fire dragon was too strong. The human body simply could not withstand it, and at the moment of transformation, the violent drug power would cause the person to explode and die.
But the human body cannot tolerate such a high level of drug potency, so are there any other options?
Owen wanted to use alchemy to complement the potion, but there were no alchemical conditions in this fire dragon reserve, so he had to put his plans aside for the time being.
After staying for twenty days, and leaving enough dragon potion for the staff of the reserve, Owen finally packed his things and prepared to return to Hogwarts. He had been away for more than a month and wondered what had become of his home. It was time to go back and check on it.
At the airport, Irving, dressed stylishly, walked in empty-handed, got his ticket, and went through the ticket check. But just as he was boarding the plane, a bald man walked past him. The two exchanged a glance as they passed each other, and then both stopped.
The bald man stared into Owen's eyes for a long while before suddenly smiling: "A wizard?"
Irving nodded: "Yes, you are—"
"My name is Calder, and I am a—wizard hunter."
"Hehe—" Owen suddenly laughed: "Let's get on the plane first and chat on the plane."
"OK."
Owen went directly back to England, while the wizard hunter had to transit through England before flying back to the United States. It was along the way that Owen learned that the so-called wizard was just a label. The wizards he knew were people with magical powers who could wave their wands and release magic.
However, this wizard hunter learns that there is another type of wizard, composed of non-human but humanoid creatures, and this is the type the hunter is hunting.
"Mr. Hunter, I have an idea. Next time you hunt, could you catch some live ones and sell them to me? As you know, I am a student and teaching assistant at a magic school. We have a course called Defense Against the Dark Arts, and the textbook for this course hasn't been updated in a long time. If there are new magical creatures, it would broaden the students' knowledge."
Calder was quite surprised; he only learned today that there was another kind of wizard, and that there was a complete training system, including schools, that had existed for over a thousand years.
He also found it quite novel and felt it was necessary to learn more about it.
Of course, he now also realized that all those years of fighting and killing hadn't been done by a wizard, but by someone called—
Magical creatures.
Upon arriving in England, the two exchanged contact information. Of course, only Calder left his phone number, while Owen promptly bought him an owl in Diagon Alley.
Looking at the owl in his hand, Calder paused for a moment: "I still feel that the telephone is more convenient."
Owen sighed: "There's nothing we can do. Modern technology and magic aren't compatible yet, at least not now. So if you try to make a phone call, I can't answer it at all. We can only communicate in the most primitive way."
"Okay—but I'm settling down in the US now, this little guy—"
"Don't worry, it's very healthy. It's still small now, but when it grows up, flying from America here will be a piece of cake for it."
The little owl was still a baby, but it grew very quickly. In just a few months, it would grow into a big owl. Calder had never raised one before, so he naturally didn't know any of this.
The two parted ways. The hunter boarded a plane to America, while Owen returned to Hogsmeade first, then changed into his wizard skin before leisurely returning to Hogwarts.
It was already quite late, but the house-elves still served him a delicious meal. After watching Owen finish it all, they happily went back home.
"Long time no see, Milov. I hope nothing's happened?"
A vine gently patted his shoulder a few times, then helped him pack his luggage, especially the boxes and boxes of potions, which it carried steadily and quickly.
Irving didn't care about any of that. He had already collapsed onto his bed. The conditions in the Fire Dragon Reserve weren't very good; the bed was extremely hard, and he wouldn't have been able to fall asleep if he hadn't been so exhausted.
Just as he was drifting off to sleep, he suddenly felt something furry. Without thinking, he scooped up the big cat with both hands and hugged it tightly before falling into a deep sleep.
The castle at night is eerie and quiet, with only the occasional adventurous young wizard appearing. Mr. Filch has reduced his nighttime patrols, as he's no longer very interested in capturing disobedient young wizards.
Of course, if he catches someone, he won't be rude or report it to the professors. He'll hand over the patrol duties to the captured young wizard and then go back to sleep.
As for whether the young wizard can catch anyone else, that's not the gatekeeper's job. His primary concern right now is maintaining the castle's cleanliness.
Mr. Irving prefers a clean environment, so it must be maintained.
Putting everything else aside, just look at those thousand-year-old floor tiles; they should at least be able to reflect a person's image, right?
