Chapter 613 The Weasley Brothers' Magic Trick Shop
Sirius and Mr. Weasley didn't even get to have lunch at 12 Grimmauld Place before Sirius and Mr. Weasley took him back to Diagon Alley.
In their words, this was to keep Lila and Garian from worrying.
When he returned, it was still before noon, and only his grandfather Garrick was in the wand shop, so Celen took the opportunity to visit the Weasley Wizarding Arts shop, which was not far away.
Ever since the news of Voldemort's return was announced, Diagon Alley has become increasingly deserted. The street, which used to be bustling with activity every day after the holidays, now only has a handful of pedestrians to be seen.
With fewer people, business in the shops naturally became much quieter, and some shops could not even see a single person for half a day.
But there are exceptions. Gringotts is still thriving, with wizards coming and going every day. It seems that the busier it is at times like these, the busier everyone is at depositing money, opening vaults, or withdrawing money.
Not far away, the newly opened Weasley's Magic Tricks shop is also thriving.
When Xilun arrived, there were about seven or eight wizards browsing the goods inside. Compared to the empty shops, this number might not seem like much, but it already represented half the customers on half the street.
Perhaps it's because their place is rather unconventional.
After all, the signs and facades of the surrounding shops were all dim and buried by various notices, while Fred and George's shop window attracted people's attention like a fireworks display.
Given this stark contrast, everyone passing by, regardless of whether they are interested in joke products or not, can't help but stop and turn their heads to take a look at what's in the shop window.
Those spinning, screaming, twitching, and flashing things almost all emit multicolored light, which is definitely light pollution. Staring at them for too long will make your eyes water.
On the other side, a huge poster was covered in the shop window. It was purple, just like the notices from the Ministry of Magic, but it was something they made themselves. It had bright yellow lettering printed on it.
Why are you worried about the mysterious person?
You should be concerned about constipation.
Constipation is a tormenting problem for many Chinese people!
Next to it is a picture of a nut that looks like an almond, which should be the so-called constipation nut.
"How about it?" Fred's smug voice came from beside me. "This is an idea we just came up with."
"Isn't it great?"
"Fantastic!" Siren gave a thumbs up. "Using a mysterious figure to undermine your new product is a brilliant idea. I wouldn't be surprised if you guys ever had a Dark Magician mark above your heads."
"Remember to take a picture then," George said with a grin, seemingly oblivious to the meaning behind Celen's words.
However, Celen thought that with Fred and George's quick wit, they must have figured it out, but they just didn't care.
"Come on, we'll take you inside," Fred said.
"After all, the establishment of this store wouldn't have been possible without your help."
The reason they were able to open the Magic Trick House so quickly was all thanks to the large sum of Galleons that Siren had previously sponsored, something they had always kept in mind.
The store was quite spacious, about the size of five wand shops. Various cardboard boxes were piled up to the ceiling, filled with all sorts of quick-acting truancy candies. Fred and George had made a lot of them before the holidays.
Besides these, the left shelf also displays many fake wands. They look exactly like real wands, but if you try to use them to cast a spell, the wand will turn into a rubber duck. There's also a more expensive one that, if the user isn't careful, will give them a beating on the neck and head.
"Don't let my grandfather see this," Siren said with a laugh. "Otherwise, I'm afraid he'll faint from anger."
As a traditional wand maker, Garrick's feelings toward wands are beyond the comprehension of most people. His reaction to seeing this fake wand is probably similar to an Italian seeing a pizza with pineapple on it.
"Don't worry," Fred said with a smile.
"We've inquired about it."
"Olivander hardly ever goes out—"
"They certainly won't come to our store."
Xilun continued walking and saw more interesting gadgets. For example, there was a telescope that could punch you; if you put your eye close, it would punch you, and it would definitely make your eye swell up.
There are also quill pens that can automatically spray ink, so you don't have to dip them in ink after writing just a few lines. Xilun feels that this is more like a stationery item because it is really useful and can save a lot of time.
In the middle of the store, a huge display case is placed in the best position, with gold lettering on it that shines brightly.
[Patented Product: Daydream Spell]
Inside were different boxes, each printed with brightly colored pictures. A handsome young man and a beautiful girl stood together on the deck of a pirate ship.
The box next to it had another picture: a man dressed as a cowboy was riding a horse across the desolate Gobi Desert, with a lively tavern not far away.
Further on, a massive arena—
According to the instructions, simply open the box and recite the incantation inside to enter a high-quality, 30-minute daydream, which can be used in conjunction with quick-acting skip-class candy.
"Sales of Dreamless Sleeping Pills will plummet," Siren said with a laugh.
"Sometimes dreaming isn't such a bad thing." Fred led Siren further into the shop. There were some playing cards there, not magical products, but magic props used by Muggles.
Some wizards find these non-magical gadgets quite interesting; although they don't earn much, they provide a steady stream of income.
Finally, there are some bizarre items. Like edible Black Magic Marks, nose strips similar to those used by the Mysterious Man, and constipation pills on GG (a type of penis).
"Are these really not just some almonds you randomly peeled?"
"Of course not." George shook his head. "Strictly speaking, it's a derivative product."
"Initially, we wanted to make it into a quick-acting skip-school candy," Fred said, "but there was a small problem with the manufacturing process."
"What's the problem?"
"Yeah, it's a bit too effective," Fred said with a grin. "One pill is enough to keep someone sitting on the toilet all day."
"And we haven't developed an antidote yet."
"But none of these are the most important things."
"The most important thing is here." The two led Xilun to the back of the shop, to a darker room.
But there was nothing inside; the shelves were empty, except for a hat.
"The curse-repelling hat can deflect curses back," Fred explained. "We thought it was just a joke, you know, it's nowhere near as good as the Ironclad Curse."
"But the Ministry of Magic bought five hundred hats for all their staff." George's tone was unusually serious as he spoke.
"Can you imagine that some people who work at the Ministry of Magic can't even recite a decent armor charm?"
"Did they buy their NEWT certificates?"
