Chapter 1-2, The meeting

(Day 001, Midnight)

As the youth led me and Tabby outside the cabin, I couldn't help but be surprised at the sight of the village.

The wooden cabin we spawned in looked like an plain ordinary home, not something grand or royal.

“What? Did you expect a castle?” Tabby asked, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she noticed my bewildered expression.

I chuckled at that comment. "I... wasn't sure what to expect, honestly."

"Well, welcome to Sundew Village. The urgent meeting had started, hurry! Head this way!"

I caught a glimpse of some villagers—elders with long, flowing black robes—sitting near the central square, whispering among themselves. We were hurriedly making our way toward the long wooden table where the chief was seated, clearly awaiting something important.

The chief continued, "As for why we sensed your arrival—and why we know you can speak Cosmatish—is because that, ah...fight you just had literally woke up the whole village."

The elders around the table nodded in agreement, exchanging knowing glances. I could sense the gravity of the situation. They were far more familiar with this world than I was, and whatever was going on, it was clear that they needed our help.

"Now," the chief continued, "allow me to explain the Prophecy that foretold of this moment."

Before he could say more, a massive roar echoed from outside the village.

"Who dare wake me up in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT?!"

The voice was booming, and the ground seemed to shake as it resonated. Shad's eyes widened. He had no idea what kind of creature could make such a sound, but the village seemed to react in alarm.

The chief looked grim. "and...., that would be our cue," he said.
