Chapter 307 Lost in hollywood
The crowded streets of Hollywood megacity were a sight to behold to any outsider. People with all sorts of traits showed them proudly instead of covering them up. People with feelers, gills, tails, long claws, strange colored eyes, hair, even skin tones.
Uriel could not believe his eyes, it was so extreme that the one persn standing out was himself who didn't possess a physical sign of having a trait.
If anything, the only tell would have been the presence of the Jaguar spirit, the mighty Ocelotl that carried Uriel all the way from the zeppelin to the closest megacity, but before getting close enough to be spotted by the city's watchmen he cancelled the summon to avoid drawing too much attention.
"Tsk! If I knew it was like this, I would have kept the summon active." Uriel clicked his tongue as he felt like a small fish in a huge ocean. Everyone looked strong, wealthy and beautiful too.
He wondered how was it possible to find so many people with traits in the streets, but before he could take any guesses he was approached by a beautiful woman wearing shorts and a low cut T-shirt.
"Hey! Would you like a tour of the city?" She greeted him as though they were long lost friends, with a tight hug that left him speechless.
"Excuse me?"
"You're excused!" She smiled brightly and disappeared in the crowded street before he could react.
In a daze, Uriel patted his clothes and found out there was something missing: his card.
"Hold that woman! She stole from me!" Uriel shouted, though no one reacted in the slightest. He got a couple awkward stares but instead of pity, it seemed like they regretted not being the ones who approached him.

As an evolved, she was aware that she stood no chance at taking on Nika in a fight, but after meeting with Uriel's cold glare she realized her chances at seducing him or distracting him for even a second were even scarcer.
Uriel then left the scene leaving Nika behind with the unruly thief and he proceeded to walk the streets being more cautious.
His goal was to make preparations to stock up the zeppelin with everything they could possibly need, but for that he needed the items to be delivered outside the city. It was an odd request, but it was nothing that a loaded card couldn't fix and vendors were more than happy to comply.
Furniture, home devices, electronics, food, everything he thought of he bought. However, being the cheapskate he was, he did cut a few corners and bought whatever was on sale rather than what could have been thought of as tasteful.
The heat, the people, the crowded streets, everything seemed too fast and too extravagant for Uriel and he vowed not to ever return to that megacity if he could help it. While they were looking for a place to settle and conduct their business in peace as far away from Texas as possible, he just couldn't see himself living in such a busy place.
Hollywood megacity made him look like he came from the countryside and it rejected him as much as he disliked it.
That evening, a zeppelin was spotted at a distance causing a hubbub as they thought the Mapple corporation was on their way to re-stock their shops earlier that month but that wasn't the case.
The ship landed outside the city and proceeded to load all the crates Uriel had delivered outside the city, only to disappear in the vastness of the night.
A young woman looked at it from her usual spot near the entrance of the city and she heaved a sigh of relief. Somehow she knew that the person she met had to be related to the strange ship spotted outside the city and seeing it leave gave her some peace of mind.
"Those eyes..." She muttered as she trembled at the memory of the man she pickpocketed earlier that day.
