Chapter 137 Buying the old factory

Chapter 137 Buying the old factory

The morning of the next day was the deadline for buying the abandoned factory and Uriel got up early as he was excited to get it over with. The first thing he did after waking up was to check his bank account and make sure the exorbitant amount he saw right before falling asleep wasn't just a dream.

'This isn't right, it's way too much money. Especially since the stupid jaguar ate the entity level flux orb.' He struggled inwardly to find an explanation of the incredible amount transferred to his account, but then he came to the conclusion that it the payment from the expedition to Chichén Itzá as he didn't know the account number that transferred the money to him.

He headed towards the real estate company responsible for the sale of the abandoned factory in hopes of finally buying it. He was never a fan of public transportation, especially since money was always tight and he would rather walk wherever he needed to go, but he was in a rush and quickly hopped on the bus.

The real estate company was located in a commercial building downtown. Even if they dealt with properties in the slums, they were also in charge of most of the west part of the city. The building itself was impressive and very luxurious. After all, not just everyone had the funds to buy a property and they needed to accommodate only the wealthiest citizens in the whole city.

In one of the break rooms of the division responsible for the properties of the slum, a young woman was mindlessly stirring a cup of coffee that had already gone cold, her eyes wandering all over the place. It was Vivian, the young woman that made the deal with Uriel.

For someone like her, selling a property was her ticket out of poverty and onto professional success. The commissions alone would allow her to live a comfortable life for the foreseeable future, but....

"Look at her, she still thinks she's going to make it big." A woman on her thirties that looked almost as tired as Vivian scoffed.

"Doesn't she realize she got tricked by a slum rat?" Another one giggled.

They were both her seniors and wore the same uniform. They were far more experienced than Vivian, and also, much more successful than her. The reason for their success had little to do with their charisma or their speech skills and more with their disposition to 'seal the deal' with the customers in order to get them to rent properties.

While Uriel gazed at the room disinterestedly ready to sign the papers, Vivian undid a couple buttons on her blouse. It was going to be her first time, but it was the least she could do if that meant increasing her chances of selling the property.

After all, it was no secret that all real estate agents were chosen by their looks and, even if she was from the slums and lived a harsh life, she was quite beautiful and possessed a luscious body most women envied.

Unaware of the misunderstanding, Uriel was taken aback when Vivian leaned in for a kiss. He could have probably stop her, with his speed stat he could have dodged and be on the other corner of the room in a split second, but she took him completely by surprise.

Vivian kissed him on the lips making sure to apply all the tips her coworkers gave her since she joined the company. She pressed her body against Uriel's chest and continued to kiss him but even though Uriel allowed it he didn't respond to the kiss, in fact, his expression was cold and aloof.

It wasn't working and Vivian realized kissing wasn't what he wanted, though she couldn't get herself to go through with what she was about to do without at least a kiss first. It was the only thing she could do to keep at least a trace of dignity, to convince herself she was actually doing it because she wanted.

She then took a step back and tied her hair with a hairband, determined to not let him out of the room until he signed the papers, then she proceeded to kneel on the ground.

"Uh, Miss Vivian What are you doing?" Uriel asked in a daze.

"Just relax, I know what I'm doing." Vivian lied through her teeth, but when she attempted to go forward Uriel stopped her.

"Listen, I'm flattered, but I just want to sign the papers and be on my way."

Vivian blinked dumbfounded.

Uriel emerged from the room about ten minutes later with a folder under his arm and a wide smile. Vivian's coworkers shook their head in disbelief, though at that point it wasn't because they didn't believe he had the money to buy the property as they figured out Uriel was a hunter. What they didn't expect was how little time it took them to 'seal the deal' and they inwardly laughed at him.
