Chapter 129 Into jail?
Chapter 129 Into jail?
After Uriel's confession the guards were left dumbstruck. Suddenly, the many precautions taken by their superiors and the warnings they received started making sense.
The higher ups of the Mapple corporation placed a light infantry unit from the combat division on every gate in the off chance that Uriel showed up, they also went through great lengths to keep everything a secret from both the army and the government alike.
Just the daily expenses of keeping some of the best trained ascended watching a location was high, but four different locations seemed too extreme. If those measures were taken to capture a heavenly rank hunter it would have been completely justified, but Uriel didn't have the noticeable signs of heavenly rank.
The only physical trait that stood out from him was his silky smooth skin, but he wasn't muscular and didn't look strong in any sense.
"Hey, are you telling the truth?" Stoneskin, the Mapple employee with a physical defense trait, managed to ask with a straight face after taking a few seconds to calm down.
"Hahaha, Nice one!" Mark laughed. "As if a wimp like you could possibly kill Mister Flanagan 'The taser'." Mark laughter died down once he realized nobody else was laughing, in fact, everyone was dead silent.
"Yes, I killed him."
"Why did you do something like that?" Asked another guard without ever taking his hand from his gun's handle.
Uriel didn't reply, he just kept staring with eyes cold as murder at the guard in front of him sending shivers down his spine.
It could be said that Uriel was out of line by confessing of a murder he, technically, didn't even commit in the first place. Even if Flanagan's demise was caused by Uriel breaking the jeweled bracelet, it was actually the nameless horrors who killed him.
They didn't wear the security branch longcoat or the combat division suit, instead they were wearing casual clothes more fit for daily routine rather than an interrogation. The first one to enter the room was a female on her thirties, taller than the average with a luscious body. She was carrying two folding chairs and placed one in the corner and the other in front of Uriel.
"You will answer all of my questions with the truth." She said.
"Yes." Uriel replied.
"I wasn't asking, it's my trait. My name is Seiren and I'll be conducting this interrogation. My goal is to ascertain whether or not you stole from the Mapple corporation, if it turns out you did you'll be facing criminal charges, but if you're innocent you'll walk out of here a free man."
"Yes." Uriel nodded while blatantly staring at her bountiful breasts to avoid eye to eye contact, thinking her trait may be related to sight.
"My trait has nothing to do with my eyes if that's what you're thinking. It's actually related to hearing. If you lie to me, I'll be able to tell immediately." She said as she touched her pointy ears.
"I still like this view better." Uriel shamelessly replied.
"Cheeky lad! I like him." The man in the corner merrily laughed, but his laughter died when the woman glared at him.

"Let's begin." Seiren said.
