Chapter 40 Bronze City Map
Chapter 40 Bronze City Map
Once the hammer had completely calmed down, Su An took it back to his dormitory, which was already late at night.
Fingel was curious and wanted to handle it, but the kind Suan reminded Fingel of the hammer's past.
Fingel shuddered after hearing this, immediately leaped onto the bed, pulled the covers over his head, and curled up like a caterpillar, trembling.
"No, don't come any closer! I haven't even been to Cuba to see the Latin beauties yet! I don't want to die! I don't want to wake up in ruins!"
Su An snapped the hammer's core in half and chuckled, "Don't worry, it's completely obedient now. I made a little deal with this hammer..."
Fingel asked in surprise, "This hammer can even have a vague consciousness?"
Buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz!
A piercing buzzing sound came from the dormitory corridor, like a knife scraping against the ear cartilage, or like a master thief triggering the alarms of banks all over the world at the same moment.
"This is the highest level alarm! What tough nut has the Execution Department run into this time?"
Su An and Fingel exchanged a glance and rushed out of the Norton Building.
Once they went outside, they finally saw clearly.
The red lights of the college streetlights flashed in an array, and a piercing buzzing sound came from loudspeakers hidden in the buildings.
Students, both boys and girls, were walking out of the various stairwell exits, all wearing school uniforms and looking serious.
Kassel College is a small college, so the dormitories in Zone 1 are mixed-gender, but the students are assigned to different floors.
Su An looked the strangest; he was wearing pajamas and had a large hammer at his waist. He didn't look like he was responding to an alarm; he looked more like he had just escaped from prison.
"Friend, even if you have the privilege of not being rejected by a girl for three months, you'll definitely get dumped after three months and one day," Fingel said regretfully as he approached.
"Don't you know what it means to play dumb to show your true colors?" Su An closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and smiled at the onlookers. Anyway, he had already been seen, and there was no time to be embarrassed now.
"There must be some kind of emergency. You should read the admission handbook carefully. The college will summon students to the library in case of an emergency."
Fingel squinted his sleepier eyes, flipping through the school handbook and muttering to himself.
"This alarm is to summon 'S' and 'A' grade students. Everyone else can continue sleeping. It has nothing to do with me, an F-grade student. Su An, everything is in your hands now."
After he finished speaking, he slammed the door shut and retreated into Norton Hall without the slightest hesitation.
"All 'S' and 'A' class students, please report to the library! Emergency! Emergency!" Norma's voice came through the loudspeaker, confirming Fingel's suspicions.
"The 3E exam results haven't come out yet, so I shouldn't be counted." Su An really wanted to go back to sleep like Fingel. He was exhausted after a long day and couldn't muster any fighting spirit.
"Nono, Suan, quick, quick, emergency! Gather at the library! We need your help!"
Professor Guderian rushed out of the complex while putting on his suit, his hair more disheveled than Suan and Fingel combined.
Su An knew he probably couldn't escape, and couldn't help but let out a long sigh. Just then, the doors of the Norton Hall opened, and Fingel emerged from inside, his bare arms covered by Su An's school uniform.
"Emergency situations are also opportunities for the best students to shine. I have faith in you!" Professor Guderian patted Su An firmly on the shoulder and whispered in his ear.
"You're after your full professorship, aren't you?" Su An thought maliciously.
A group of people practically sprinted into the library, the buzzing sound never ceasing, a piercing, soul-summoning noise.
Professor Manstein and Professor von Schneider of the Executive Office waited for the elite students in the library's control room with grim faces.
Su An quietly counted, and there were twelve people in total, including Caesar, Chu Zihang, Nuonuo, and several of his defeated subordinates whom he did not recognize. They all seemed to have been painfully beaten by Su An during their day at Freedom, and they were like mice seeing a cat when they saw Su An.
Su An had no choice but to pretend that they were not familiar with each other, and gave an awkward but polite smile.
The professors took up the remaining seats. The room was a classic and elegant library, unlike any control center. It could seat forty or fifty people, and the four walls were lined with bookshelves, on which stood hardcover ancient books with leather covers.
"There are 12 students, 11 of whom are 'A' grade and 1 is 'S' grade, and the faculty consists of 27 people. Everyone is here," Professor Manstein whispered to Professor von Schneider.
"Time is short, let's begin immediately."
Professor von Schneider dragged his gas cylinder cart to the wall and scanned the crowd. His deep, rapid breathing and the menacing look on his face, half-hidden by a black mask, quelled the restlessness of the students.
"Dear students, we need your help right now. The situation is that two of our executive members are trapped in the Bronze City of the Three Gorges Reservoir in China."
That was a dragon's lair, from which we had just obtained important information, but some kind of mechanism was triggered, and all the roads have changed.
Their oxygen tanks are running low every second. Each of you has dragon blood; some of you are descended from the great Bronze King Norton, the master of that dragon's lair.
I have some dragon script data that Aki, a member of the Executive Department, obtained underwater. I hope you will concentrate on reading it, thinking about it, recalling it, and see if you can provide some help in unraveling the labyrinth of the Bronze City.
"Hurry! Hurry! People all over the world are trying to help; their oxygen tanks will only last for 20 minutes!" Professor von Schneider clapped his hands sharply, and the teak bookshelves that rose above the ceiling slid apart to reveal a giant screen a full 100 inches in size. At the same time, the desktops in front of everyone automatically flipped open, revealing individual monitors.
In an instant, the place transformed into a highly sophisticated control center. Everyone, including Caesar and Chu Zihang, deftly pulled out their student cards and swiped them in the card slots. Norma quickly verified their identities and accessed their respective operating interfaces.
At the same time, a giant cyan dome composed of a series of photos appeared on the big screen. Su An stared blankly at the text, which was different from the phonetic script used in the 3E exam. This time it wasn't the Korean script that looked like keychains; it was... a big tree!
"Damn it, do dragons use drawings instead of writing? How is this even possible to understand!" Su An cursed these ancient lizards who didn't simplify rhetoric but made their writing incredibly artistic.
Wait a minute? Su An felt like he could understand those dragon script characters?
As he watched, he felt the alchemical patterns within his body suddenly become lively.
The intricate lines were automatically replicated by the Philosopher's Stone and began to slowly decipher them!
