Chapter 32 The Miraculous Medical Tent, with Superb Healing Effects
Upon hearing this, Uther and Jaina both looked at Rhodes in surprise.
Repairing severed limbs? That's not something ordinary Holy Light can do!
Even for a top paladin like Uther, his Holy Light can only accelerate wound healing, purify impurities, and treat diseases. For completely missing limbs, at most it can stop bleeding, relieve pain, and promote wound healing, but it cannot regenerate the limbs!
"Rhodes, what did you say?" Uther's voice was filled with disbelief and gravity.
"Repair a broken leg? Are you sure?" He looked at the pale-faced soldier on the ground, who was delirious from the pain and blood loss. Although he had temporarily stopped the bleeding from the broken leg with holy light, the bloody wound was still a shocking sight.
Jaina stared intently at Rhodes, her azure eyes filled with surprise and curiosity. Just who was Rhodes?
His strange magic was already surprising enough, but who would have thought he had even more powerful magical items?
She understood the diversity of a mage's abilities better than Uther, but what about magical items that could regenerate severed limbs?
Unheard of! Unless it's some ancient relic or... Jaina suddenly thought of the ancient legends of the Titan Guardians.
If the things associated with antiquity in this world are not the High Elves, then they must be the legendary Titan Guardians.
Just like Tyr, who protected humanity, it is said that the human race was able to survive because of the protection of this ancient guardian.
Rhodes nodded calmly, offering no further explanation, and knelt down beside the wounded soldier, ignoring the questioning looks from the surrounding soldiers.
He focused his mind on the system and selected the medical tent he had previously purchased from the blacksmith shop in the Cemetery City.
The next moment, a strange object appeared in Rhodes' hand.
It wasn't the exquisite staff or the sparkling gems one might imagine, but rather... an extremely rudimentary model!
It looks like a miniature tent model pieced together from a few thin supports and some dusty, weathered pieces of old linen.
It was only the size of a palm, and a faded little triangular flag was stuck on top of the model, with a very simple, crooked red cross mark drawn on it.
This design was a huge disappointment to everyone. Please, this is the magical prop you were talking about?
"Rhodes, are you sure? This thing looks like a regular tent model! Are you sure it's an ancient magical artifact that can heal severed limbs?" Jaina looked at Rhodes speechlessly.
The other human soldiers, including the paladins, and even Uther, all looked disappointed.
Please! You just pull out a simple tent model and claim it's a magical artifact!
“Rhodes, did you take the wrong thing? This looks like just a simple tent,” Uther said.
This thing... looks less like a powerful magical artifact and more like a toy made by a child from materials scavenged from a garbage dump, exuding an indescribable sense of shabbyness.
“Don’t underestimate it. Its effects will exceed your expectations. And there’s no doubt that it is a top-tier magical artifact, even if it looks a little rudimentary,” Rhodes said with a smile.
Unfortunately, some items in the Heroes of Might and Magic world don't look very appealing, and this medical tent can only be described as rudimentary.
"Expand!"
With a low shout, the small tent model suddenly floated up from his hand! The gray-white frame made a soft "click" sound and began to expand and extend at a visible speed!
The tattered linen sheets unfolded and enlarged, and the faded red cross flag atop the tent grew larger, swaying listlessly in the evening breeze.
In the blink of an eye, a real tent, large enough to accommodate one person and covered with an old white cloth, suddenly appeared in front of everyone!
This scene surprised everyone present. They never expected that such a small model could be turned into a real tent, but it still couldn't change its shabby appearance.
However, it can now be confirmed that it is indeed a magical artifact.
"Alright, you'll see its effects soon. Carry the wounded inside," Rhodes said, pointing to the medical tent in front of him.
“Do as Rhodes says,” Uther said in a deep voice.
The soldiers dared not disobey and carefully carried the groaning Carris into the tent. As soon as the wounded man entered, the tent's entrance curtain seemed to come alive and automatically fell and closed.
Rod didn't go inside. Instead, he stood outside the tent, his hands resting lightly on the gray fabric of the tent wall, and closed his eyes to concentrate.
To outsiders, he appeared to be concentrating on manipulating the tent's power, but in reality, he was activating the medical tent's healing function through the system interface, targeting Karis inside the tent.
What happened inside the tent was something that people outside couldn't see.
But just a dozen seconds later, a soft, pale green light, carrying a strange vitality, suddenly burst forth from inside the tent!
The light shone through the gaps in the gray cloth, not dazzling, but full of vibrant life, like the purest life energy in a spring forest.
This life energy is completely different from the holy light energy. The holy light is sacred, powerful, and solemn, while the life energy is loving, profound, and full of vitality.
Inside the tent, the wounded soldier, Caris, felt as if he were soaking in a warm hot spring, as if a gentle breeze was caressing his face. It was like lying in a forest in springtime—it was so comfortable.
On the interface, Rhodes can also see that the target has been restored to 21 health points and the healing is complete. Every three hours, the medical tent can heal one severely injured unit.
The red cross flag at the top of the tent swayed gently a few times without any wind, and then the tent itself began to emit a faint white light and shrank and collapsed at a visible speed! A few seconds later, it turned back into the small medical tent model lying in Rhodes' palm.
Where the tent disappeared, Caris lay on the ground, completely unharmed!
His broken left leg was no longer a bloody, mangled wound, but a complete leg with a healthy skin tone and even visible muscle texture!
Apart from her slightly pale skin, which resembled that of a newborn baby, that leg was almost identical to her right leg!
Although Carlis himself was weak from exhaustion due to the excruciating pain, he was conscious and his face was filled with bewilderment and disbelief at surviving such a disaster.
He subconsciously moved his newborn left toes and tried to bend and straighten his knee—the movements were a little stiff, but he could definitely move!
"By the Holy Light..."
"This...how is this possible?!"
"His leg...it really has grown back!" The deathly silence was broken, and the camp instantly erupted in chaos!
This magical item is absolutely amazing! Although it looks unassuming, its effects are incredibly good!
Chapter 33 Is this an ancient Titan magical creation?
The female mage quickly stepped forward and carefully examined the soldier Karis's leg. Her face was filled with shock and excitement: "Perfect! The bone reconstruction is seamless, and the muscle, nerve, and vascular networks are almost perfectly restored! This... this is simply the pinnacle of life alchemy!"
"Rhodes, is this tent... an engineering creation, or an enchanted item? What's the energy core inside? That life gel..." She bombarded her with questions, her academic enthusiasm completely ignited.
Rhodes shrugged.
Uther walked over and gently patted Caris on the shoulder, then looked at Rhodes, his solemn expression replaced by deep admiration and a hint of understanding: "A remarkable feat, Rhodes. This treasure is no ordinary item; its use must be extremely taxing."
"You've seen the results; it can reshape flesh and repair limbs. As for the cost..."
"I barely used any of it; it was all thanks to the effect of this magical artifact." Rhodes smiled and revealed a fact that utterly shocked Uther.
Medical tents are completely free; once you buy one, you can perform treatments every three hours.
I currently have 2000 units of gold per day, while a medical tent only costs 750 gold coins.
More importantly, Rhodes has already planned to establish a parliament that can produce 4000 units of gold per day. The prerequisite for a parliament is a council and a castle.
The base camp has only one fortress-like pre-construction building, which comes with the initial city and consumes only 2500 units of gold and 5 units of ore.
After the base is built, the production of creatures will increase by 50%, and additional defensive arrow towers will be added. The castle requires 5000 units of gold, plus 10 units of ore and 10 units of wood.
Once the castle is built, bio-production will increase by 100%, and the cost of building the Capitol is 1 gold coins.
Rhodes estimated that by the time he arrived in Lordaeron, he should be able to build the castle, and then save up enough money for five more days to build a parliament.
Therefore, the medical tent was really worthless to him. Rhodes planned to use what he had to exchange for something special, such as some resources from the capital city of Lordaeron.
That's why the medical tent's capabilities were showcased, so that Uther and Jaina could see its effects and relay the message to King Terenas and Dalaran.
"No cost required, Rhodes, are you sure?" Before Uther could speak, the female mage Jaina jumped up.
“There are a few limitations; you can only treat one unit every three hours, but that’s about it,” Rhodes said with a shrug.
These words left Jaina and Uther speechless. Was this what they called a price to pay?
You say this is the price to pay? I thought it could only be used once a day or once a month!
“By the Holy Light, Rhodes, this is a rare treasure. Use it for the right purposes. Keep it safe and don’t take it out lightly,” Uther said, patting Rhodes on the shoulder.
As a noble paladin, he would not have any intention of taking Rhodes's magical treasure upon seeing it.
He would only remind Rhodes to use the treasure for good, but the treasure needed to be kept secret, otherwise it would attract some people with ulterior motives.
"Rhodes, can you tell me where you got this thing called a medical tent? How is it made? And how does it work?" the female mage asked impatiently.
She was extremely eager to know the origin of this special magical item. As a female mage from Dalaran, a disciple of Archmage Antonidas, and a genius female mage pursued by the blood elf prince Kael'thas, her thirst for knowledge was boundless.
"How should I put it? This is a treasure I obtained while traveling through an extremely ancient ruin. It's an indescribable place, filled with incredibly magical and advanced creations," Rhodes said, feigning mystery.
Upon hearing this, not only the female mage but even Uther looked on with curiosity.
However, the Lightbringer suppressed his curiosity, dismissed some of the surrounding soldiers, and took Rhodes to his tent for a private conversation. What he was about to say was not for the ordinary soldiers to hear.
Only Rhodes, Uther, and Jaina remained inside the tent.
“This place is safe enough, Rhodes, you can speak now,” Uther said.
"Lord Uther, and Jaina, do you... know anything about the Titans?" Rhodes asked slowly.
“Titans?” Uther’s thick eyebrows twitched slightly; the word carried too much weight.
As the leader of the Knights of the Silver Hand, he had come into contact with many ancient texts and legends. Although the doctrine of the Holy Light did not directly involve it, it vaguely mentioned that it was a great being at the beginning of creation, and even that the origin of mankind was related to the creation of the Titans.
"You mean... the legendary Titan guardians who shaped this world and left behind many ancient ruins?"
The female mage's face lit up with joy; this treasure was indeed related to the Titan Guardians.
“It’s them!” Jaina’s reaction was much more direct and enthusiastic. Her blue eyes flashed with an amazing light, and she leaned forward slightly.
“Tyr! Azadas! Freya! These Titans…Guardians! Rhodes, are you saying…that your magical powers, and this medical tent, all…originate from the Titan ruins?”
Her voice trembled slightly with excitement. As one of Dalaran's top apprentices and a protégé of Antonidas, her knowledge of Azeroth's ancient history far surpassed that of ordinary people.
The Titan Guardians and their creations represent a power and knowledge that is almost divine and beyond the reach of mortals.
If Rhodes's adventures are related to this, then everything makes sense—those never-before-seen magical systems, that ability to regenerate severed limbs that ignores the laws of holy light!
Rhodes nodded, and following Jaina's train of thought, began to weave a half-true, half-false "adventure" based on the Warcraft universe:
"Yes, during a very accidental journey in my early years, I got lost in the depths of a fjord north of Khaz Modan, near the Endless Sea, shrouded in eternal mist."
There... there was an entrance, hidden by ancient ice and a distorted magical field, and with a bit of luck and... perhaps some kind of guidance, I was able to enter it.
It was not any ancient civilization relic as we know it; the space inside was far more vast than we could imagine, with huge, gleaming metallic passageways crisscrossing the area.
"I'm certain that it couldn't have been built by elves, humans, dwarves, trolls, or even dragons. Its style is very peculiar. I encountered a mysterious, ancient, and powerful being there..." Rhodes began to make up a story.
