Chapter 475: Accommodations - 2
The next morning, when Leo came out of his room, he was served food made by Naelith and Lyswenna. Apparently, they didn’t even allow the 6 maids to cook for Leo, leaving them unsure of what to do. All of their tactics had failed, and Leo was exceptionally restrained.
"What is happening?" one of the maids whispered to the one beside her.
"Last time, that one man couldn’t even resist for a single hour before he took all 6 of us to bed, even before eating."
The other maid nodded slowly.
"Yeah, the highest record was held by that monk from the monastery... but even he couldn’t hold himself back after the bathing session."
They talked amongst themselves as Leo ate his food while Naelith and Lyswenna served him.
Apparently, all of them were masters of seduction and used their allure to capture the attention of men who came to the city as important guests. They took pride in this because no man had been able to resist them until now. And more than that, no man had lasted long enough to handle all 6 of them.
But today, their entire streak had shattered.
"Maybe it’s because he already got a taste of those elves."
"Hmph! Even those elves are nothing compared to me. I bet he is a eunuch. He didn’t even take them to bed last night."
Naelith and Lyswenna were naturally able to hear everything with their heightened senses, but both pretended not to notice.
But the moment they called Leo a eunuch, the crockery in Naelith’s hands cracked slightly as she unintentionally applied force.
"Calm down, Naelith. You have been around me for so long; do you really think such comments will affect me in the slightest? That too from such low lives?" Leo said calmly as he finished his meal. "Both of you, eat your breakfast after me and meet me outside."
After that, he sat on a couch, reading an interesting book he had found inside the house while waiting for Naelith and Lyswenna to finish their breakfast.
The maids, seemingly finding their chance in the absence of the elves, made their move once again as one of them slowly approached him.
Leo sighed, and without even lifting his head, he spoke.
"It would be better for all of you to cease these pathetic attempts to seduce me, lest I destroy your lives with a few simple words to the city official."
He calmly turned the page of the book.
The maids’ expressions froze at Leo’s words because they were true. As a matter of fact, he could outright kill them, and no one would hold him accountable under the guise that the maids had attempted to assassinate him.
"And let’s be honest, your used-up bodies are barely praiseworthy when compared to my wife, who is devoted solely to one man. It would be more accurate to call all of you public property. Now scram, and don’t appear before me again. My personal maids, who are once again far better than all of you, are more than sufficient to handle my basic needs."
Leo said all of this with a straight face, without even looking up at them, as if their existence simply didn’t matter to him.
And thankfully, he didn’t see their faces, because they had twisted into such ugly expressions that the mere sight of them was enough to make any man flee from the city.
Back in the dining area, Lyswenna was barely holding back her laughter as she listened to Leo’s words.
"’Public property?’ Now that’s a phrase I would love to add to my dictionary." Lyswenna giggled, and even Naelith looked similarly delighted.
Outside their house, the same city official appeared with a letter in his hand. He discreetly called 2 maids outside to get the gist of what had happened throughout the night.
"So? Did he go wild on all of you? Since he is a 4-star being, he must have done all 6 of you the entire night, right? Was he satisfied? He wasn’t disappointed, I guess?"
Hearing the official’s incessant questions, the maids lowered their heads in shame. The words ’public property’ had struck deeply into their hearts and refused to disappear because of how coldly they had been addressed... and because it was true too. By now, they might have slept with more than 100 men. If that wasn’t public property, then what was?
They told the official about Leo’s situation, including his comments. Tears brimmed in their eyes, making them red with humiliation.
"What?! Oh no..." The official felt he had completely miscalculated things.
"Looks like he doesn’t like experienced women..." he muttered.
In his mind, Leo probably preferred innocent and pure girls, the type he could corrupt by guiding them through the act rather than experienced women who already knew how to handle everything on their own.
This was a common line of thinking. Most men would sleep with anyone without caring about loyalty to their partner, the only condition being that the woman matched their tastes. Otherwise, the official had seen even the most philandering men turn into saints if the woman before them wasn’t to their liking.
"No worries, there is another chance on the 9th..." he said before turning toward the crying maids.
"Come now, don’t cry."
He spread his arms apart, pulling them into a consoling embrace. In the act, tightening the hug to feel their soft bodies.
"It was my mistake that I couldn’t figure out his likes and dislikes. I won’t hold any of you accountable; you tried your best."
He gently patted the back of one of the crying maids.
"Let’s do this. Come to my chambers tonight so we can once again perfect your seduction skills, alright?"
The maids nodded like obedient chickens and even snuggled into his chest and arms, but when their faces hid from the official’s eyes, they wore smug smiles as they glanced at one another.
With this, they wouldn’t lose their jobs.
Even though Leo’s words genuinely stung them, survival and self-interest mattered more.
The man handed them the letter meant for Leo before departing.
When the maids returned to deliver it, Naelith took the letter first and carefully examined it before handing it over to Leo.
"Banquet invitation on the 9th... late at night?" Leo muttered after seeing the content inside the letter.
As Leo went through the letter, he realised it was not only he who was invited, but all the prominent students across all the academies who had come to the Ember City’s Secret Realm Exploration.
But his eyes caught a detail in it.
"There are no students from Velerath Grand Academy?" He said, reading further.
The letter contained the general gist of the academies the students were supposed to come from, so the omission of the top academy’s name was particularly eye-catching to him.
And tho the letter said it was a banquet so the students could get to know each other, the Count’s intention was clear when it was mentioned that only a few students were receiving the invitation.
"So... another ploy to garner favour?" Leo immediately understood the hidden tactic.
"I just hope I don’t get framed for something stupid."
Leo had read many novels in his previous life where the main character’s life was turned upside down in such banquets when they fell asleep with a girl in tow. Though he knew nothing would happen of that sort, only a few arrogant top rankers would try to establish their presence without knowing the actual top rankers.
"Oh? There are even some benefits added, so people like me would also go."
Apparently, just for going to the banquet, the students would receive some good Natural Treasures as an appreciation by the Count for helping him in a great cause of taming a Wyvern.
If this was another tactic, Leo had to say it was indeed great, since it now confirmed that he would go.
Leo kept the invitation aside and headed towards the market with Naelith and Lyswenna.
Along the way, they garnered many curious gazes, mostly because of Naelith and Lyswenna. Seeing elves, that too in such pristine and composed condition, wasn’t a regular sight.
But since it was an inner city, many nobles tended to keep them as slaves, so nobody was overly surprised—only a little intrigued by the fact that an Academy student had them.
As Leo walked through the market, he saw many shops selling all kinds of things. From children’s books to Beast Encyclopedias to guides on mastering specific elemental magic.
He was surprised to see that there was even a fiction section in one of the bookstores.
"What fiction can even exist when this world itself is already so fiction-like..." he muttered, recalling how being able to summon beasts was fiction in his previous life, and now he was doing it for real.
Curious, he flipped through a few pages of a book titled [11-star Awakening: I Have Infinite Mana?!]
