Chapter 167: | 167 | Following Matters

In the bridge of the UNS Trinity of Solace, Abraham stood as he observed vast seas and the lines of its boundless horizon. They were headed east, finding the Construction Yard through a given set of coordinates by Systema.

Naturally, behind the UNS Trinity of Solace were several frigates, some who were critically damaged and needed to be towed by friendly warships. Although it was a little bit delayed because of the troubles in the south, now that things were settling in, it was time.

'A Level 3 Construction Yard...' It being Level 3 had tons of implications, but most of all, it uttered its capabilities. The Port of Dawn was merely a Level 2 Port. Its applications in the foreign world was already akin to a small city on its own, so he somewhat had high expectations to the new asset.

'Well, it shouldn't take long before we arrived to it. Port Personnel of the Construction Yard had already contacted us, so at least we already know its functional at this very moment.' Abraham quietly thought to himself and glanced at the intelligence officer.

"How long until our arrival?" He calmly asked the officer, who immediately replied. "It shouldn't take no longer than half an hour, Fleet Admiral."

Hearing him, Abraham merely nodded and turned his head towards the second-most highest authority in the United Navy, Vice Admiral Charlotte. The UNS Trinity of Solace was partaking in bombardment operations in the shores of the southern colony before being called in by him.

According to reports, the bombardment made the rebels in the coastlines surrender en masse. So, the deployment of the battleship onto the southern colony had its advantages. But with the United Army already making its landing to the island of Austerus, it shouldn't take long before they won.

"Vice Admiral Charlotte, you have been working hard. Are you still interested in the offer I have given you?" Abraham questioned with a smile. Charlotte raised her eyebrows and responded with the same smile as him. "I'd like to decline, Fleet Admiral."

When he heard her words, Abraham sighed in disappointment. The offer he had given to the Vice Admiral was a week of vacation. But for some reason, even though not wanting to be overworked, Charlotte was much of an workaholic as he'd like to believe.

Although he'd like to explore the reason why Charlotte had rejected his offer. He couldn't keep his attention on the matter since an intelligence officer just gave an important report.

"Sir, the island has been detected by our radar systems, it's no longer than 15 kilometers from us. It shouldn't take no more than a dozen minutes for it to be seen in the horizon." The Construction Yard had finally been detected, which was a piece of good news.

Though, he wondered why the radar systems took long to detect a fairly large island such as the Construction Yard. Its concentrated high-frequency of radar signal should have been able to detect it with relative ease.

"It seems that the Construction Yard is equipped with lots of radar jammers. Much more than the Port of Dawn, making it difficult for our radar systems to detect it." Charlotte muttered under her breath while Abraham glanced at her with an astounded expression.

He wondered if she could hear his thoughts, which somewhat made him worry as there were things in his thoughts that he didn't want others to hear. Fortunately, a mechanical bell rang inside his mind, followed by Systema's reassurance.

*Ding!*

The fleet admiral looked at his lover in shocked and finally realized why she was grinning at him. He was dumbfounded since he didn't know his lover would drag him to partake in a harassment. "You knew it was harassment..."

"What's better than to have the fleet admiral as a partner in crime." Laplace replied with utter confidence that made Abraham want to grind her forehead into damnation. But fortunately, he calmed himself and bowed to Mercedes. "Apologies for what I have done, First Lieutenant."

Seeing the highest authority of the United Navy bow at her and apologize, Mercedes felt as if she had done an unforgivable crime. If the others heard about this, who knows what might happen to her. She immediately shook her heads and rejected his apology.

"T-There's no need for the fleet admiral to apologize. You were simply ignorant about it, so I believe you are free from guilt." Mercedes understood that Abraham didn't know her tail was part of the sensitive parts she'd rather not have touched.

"Eh... But Abraham still touch it and caressed it you know?" Laplace remarked with a smirk plastered on her face. On the other hand, Abraham was barely able to control himself from grinding the forehead of this problem dragon.

"The fleet admiral can do what he likes to me." Mercedes subconsciously declared, and the moment she realized what she had said, her flight instincts consumed her mind. She saluted to Abraham and took her leave, running away in embarrassment.

As silence consumed the fleet admiral's office, Abraham straightened his back and gazed at the dragoness beside him. "So, this was your plan. What are you trying to do with Mercedes, Laplace?"

He wanted to know what the problem dragon wanted to do with his secretary. Hearing him, Laplace merely gave him a smile and softly asked. "What do you think I'm trying to do, Abraham?"

Abraham furrowed his eyebrows after hearing her. Although he already knew what she planned to do, he'd rather not utter it himself. But he wasn't willing to back down against the dragoness. "I'm a monogamous guy, Laplace. I don't desire more women than you."

"Oh, how romantic." Laplace lightly placed her fingers onto Abraham's chin and stepped closer to him. "But is that really true?" She softly muttered to his ear, her soft breath gripping it.

"No matter what you do, or how much you try. You'll fail, Laplace." Abraham uttered with determination since not even the dragoness would be able to change his mind.

"My, my, Abraham... From your words, is that a challenge for me? Challenging a dragon, it seems that my Abraham have become brave." Laplace nibbled his ear, playing with it. Her dominating side was acting up, though she easily took control of it.

"Nonetheless, a challenge is a challenge. I expect a reward from this challenge, Abraham. Fortunately for me though, I don't have to do anything. Patience will be what determines who wins."

"So, who will be more patient. Me? Or you?" Laplace teased while Abraham placed his lips beside her ear, following suite to her recent actions.

"Bring it on."
